A Guinean lady, Jainaba Jallow, was yesterday afternoon exonerated from infanticide charges, this paper can reveal.
Jainaba was being tried by the Bundung Magistrates’ Court on suspicion of killing her newly born baby in Sanchaba Sulay Jobe.
Before acquitting and discharging Jainaba of the charges, magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara, presiding, explained that since the matter became a subject of litigation, the prosecution had called in two witnesses but added that none of the witnesses’ testimony could be relied upon by any competent court.

Sorry cannot help there all I know from the cases that he tried when a magistrate his judgements appeared to be very sensible and practical real justice I thought on the reports that I read, the last I heard was that he "had travelled" I know no more than that.

Kay,
How could I have missed that!
Lets hope that he is allowed to implement the new policy,as the secretary said in his speech.

"The Government wants Gambians to take ownership of the judiciary", said Mr Jaiteh.
The judicial secretary described the two newly judges as "men of wisdom" in law

Yes I agree with that.

I know Richards is your guy, and I also think highly of him. He was a good magistrate, and I am sure he will live up to expectations as a judge.
I only wish that judges and magistrates are given a life appointment in the Gambia, so that they are not at mercy of the executive branch. But this is a move in the right direction...
