TO ALL READERS & CONTRIBUTORS:

Thanks to all of you. The poem is meant for true appreciation. It is just thoughts freely expressed. It is obvious that there are great minds both as administrators and or contributors here. For one thing that I see, it helped us renew our love for the forum -administrators and contributors alike.

Once more, thanks and much love to all readers & contributors.

You see, the Fulani tried with NYAM JODO with me but failed but almost succeeded. I had lot more BUNDU NYEKEH (popular sarahule food) before coming to Yoro bawol. So the Fulani TEDDU NGAL did not work.

But one has to appreciate the rich language Fulani is.

Mawdo Kons;

your natural guardian star must be in the sea then. At least, that's what I heard. If your star is in the sea, the 'jodo' cannot work on you. They probably did -

You are right. The culture is rich, especially on these weddings. You will be all covered up in beads, white cotton, et cetera...while fidles and the 'tamas' give a special drumming. The second night on the wedding, the whole night a female singer will "sainah" with a group of women, two small girls carrying traditional wooden calabash containers, with decorations of beads & cotton . The word I cannot interprete in english. Enjoy it there!!

I think on the one wedding night, the wife is hidden and the men have to look for her and if they cant find her, they must pay a ransome and also by the gates of the compound, there is another negotiation before she enters, there also one has to pay some ransome.

Yes. The beads beautifully braided all over the head, and bangles around the wrist and ankle. The heavy tattoo round the lips and on the gums, and although now almost extinct, the big golden earings which have become the Bling Bling of the African American culture.

The wedding is not started yet if the big clabash is not present.

The cotton is a symbol of clothing. A prayer that may she find enougn sustainance. The two little girls around her is a prayer that she fills her home with children. Its a psycological preparation for her.

Chei Aduna.

Yes the sarahulay food with baobab leaves boiled in meat stew eaten over a pastry like food made of millet. This is typical sarahule food that every household eats in tmes of plenty.
