I was there the same week as you Lily and i agree the exchange rate makes things so expensive now. I was getting between 36 ad 37 to the pound. Eating in Senegambia area was more expensive than eating out in the UK, so it was better to stick to local places. The exchange rate will definatey put many tourists off visiting again.

Yeah lily would have been nice to meet up!Was there with 2 friend whom i met on the net, we had a fab time!! Hope you hada good time. When u off back there? where did you stay this time?

I think I'll be back next in December. Have a free week in August but I've never been in the rainy season before........ not sure if I really want to go then ....

I stayed in Kotu. Comfortable base.

I was there (in Kotu) in September 2006. True a visit in the rainy season can be a bit challenging (not so much the rain more the humidity)but it's an invaluable experience for anyone who wants to see a bit of the 'real' Gambia.

i have done the rainy season it is a challenge, journeys are really restrictive.

Hi again lily, i stayed at badala park in kotu, so probably saw u around!! i've never been in rainy season either, May was the latest ive been, was quiet, but nice. Might see u there December, haven't decided when to go back yet.
