I totally agree with the notion that prior to july 22nd 1994 we rarely had cases of disappearances and murders yet it was a new dawn when former Gambian dissidents were given amnesty to come back to their dear mother land. The likes of Kukoi and Baba Jobe and god knows how many criminals had the chance to come back home and be productive citizens which some did and others just wanted to remain the criminals they were like Baba jobe . Baba Jobe has always been an outcast and was arrested everytime he set foot in Gambia during the Jawara era. With all the accusations levied against jammeh for being a murderer ,thief ,Tribalist etc, none of it has any substance to it.No one can verify or testify that Jammeh killed anyone.
When Ousman Koro Ceesay was murdered once again he was out of the country, better yet we all know that he personally made sarcastic comments in the NA asking anyone who has ever killed someone to come forward and will be forgiven. We all know who he was talking to,he is history for now anyways.
Same thing happened with the student murders.Where was Jammeh during the time that happened ? ,am guessing we have already discussed that so i will leave that alone.
Thirdly we have the attempted assasination of Ousman Sillah. Why would Yahya eliminate the lawyer of a man who was trying to sabotage ,better yet sabotaged his government in every way possible, he is lucky to have bagged 9 years instead of life.
Well this is my conspiracy theory of what happened. Baba jobe knew his days were numbered , He was wanted in Sierraleone for trading arms and the blood diamong scandal. Jammeh had no choice but to sever all ties with his chameleon friend who had ulterior motives of one day becoming president and for those of you with an enquiring mind this is truely manifested in the way he had his brothers and family members strategically located within Gambia. He under estimated a younger Jammeh and felt that it was just a matter of time before everything collapses.
What better way to sabotage a trial you are bound to loose i guess eliminate your own lawyer and blame the state for an unfair trial and undermining your case. Why would someone out to commit a murder be dressed in military uniforms yada yada yada Jammeh didn't lay a hand on Ousman Sillah its obvious and clear . Why would Jammeh after the attempted assasination arrogantly argue that his military was well trained and that they don't miss. The man is as innocent as they come due to his recklessness and bold statements, criminals don't make such statements after a failed attempt on someones life.
I've said it over and over again Gambians are sycophants and power hungry *****s. The fact is that Jammeh cannot always be blamed for the careless acts of others. As in the case of the Africell manager that veered his car into the guards getting ready for his escort ,after chasing him down according to the paper i read, he was heard saying we should have killed him or shot him. So explain to me how Jammeh is responsible for the lack of discipline of gambians..............Peace

It is the bad conduct that provoked all the critical queries. Before 22 July 1994 it was uncommon to hear about people murdered or disappearing without trace in Gambia. That has since been a different picture. People are murdered and get disappeared during this regime. Does it not make sense to question everything about that including and not limiting to the affairs of a man heading a whole government operation? Two things are possible. Our president of the is behind these killings or he is behind the people who kill. Being president is not like being taxi driver. This is a much longer journey and the driver requires better scrutiny. You don't want to ask a taxi driver too many questions but a person driving your nation must be ready for questions about what belongs to us all. What is wrong with that at all?

Other clever thinkers hold it that Jammeh wishes to prevent being named by any occasion that Baba Jobe lands in the dock for blood diamond and other crimes. He (Jammeh) decided to keep Jobe in a Gambian jail. But can any man (even the wisest) break TIME? Was there once a topic on Jammeh's involvement with Charles Taylor along those lines? |

Hear say is what that is , Jammeh was not the one that was banned from traveling or named in any investigation. Baba Jobe on the other hand had his name smeared all over the tabloids as a weapons dealer.Jammeh cannot stop an endictment if Baba is ever charged, He will have no other choice but to hand him over after serving the sentence he is facing in Gambia for helping cripple the economy. True they were good friends yet in gambia it is your best friends that will help destroy you and then turn their backs on you. Remember Ousainou Njie. Like i always say "Oh Gambia" what a bunch of unloyal and opportunistic People.........................Peace |
