Is this the renaissance Africa has been yearning for long time? The ability to say NO to imperialist Europe when our interests are hunted. This editorial frm DO explains:

Madiba, at least, something is brewing in the head of our leaders about what Europe really wants with Africa.

It is high time we see the sun rising from the East instead of only looking at the setting sun.

Santa&Janya, i think its a step in the right direction. Europe must practise wat it is preaching- fair play. Atleast some African heads have re-kindled the fire of the former greats like Kwame the Osagefo, Toure, Nasser, Haile Selasie I, Keita, Sankara et Mwalimu Nyerere.

The day will surely come when we can determine where we want to be.

Bob Marley said you CAN FOOL SOME PEOPLE SOMETIME, BUT YOU CAN'T FOOL ALL THE PEOPLE ALL TIME.

"Better late than never!" as my Grandfather used to say. It is about time African Leaders spelt at their terms explicitly to the EU and US. Africans need to benefit from their massive resources and get proper renumerations for them. Africa is no longer the perpetual Golden Goose laying golden eggs for the exclusive indulgence of their ex-colonial masters. This Neo-colonial bondage needs to end and it must. All kingdoms rise and fall! Our African Leaders need to agree to terms for the betterment of the AU as a United Front it is refreshing to see this emerging and long may it continue because individual fractionalism of divide and rule has only served European interests building up their political and economic power. Whilst Africa suffered in the unnecessary hardship of poverty Africa's relationship with the world has transformed itself as a new awakening when our leaders start to value the continents worth and start to respect their people by going into these negotiations as equals rather than as subservients. Yes this is a new dawn for Africa and may our continent start to establish itself as a power broker now that the AU has acknowledge that it has the right to say no when to say yes will be a life sentence of poverty for our beloved country.

China is changing the trading paradigm altogether may this trading relationship grow to be a strong balanced one whereby Africans also stand to prosper.

Omega,

Quite agreeable!

But I ask where does this nice statement of yours place Jilanka Jammeh?

Happy New Year Dalton

In the real world Jammeh sits comfortably in the seat of power representing The Gambia. No doubt he too supports my above statement along with the majority of the Global African Community.

Omega,

Take the turn, happy new year to you also & your family.

Though funny how you smartly covered Jammeh in that statement. If you are forcing it to fit, just so you know with certainty, it's a square peg in a round hole.

What updates do you have on yesterday's "Jamboreh bukumaa jaamaa at sindola and kanil lai dinko kono"
