By Yero Jallow
Gambian Satirist: George Orwell II
The height of George Orwell II Is the height of the first class icons Through his mighty gun Guarding our sovereignty With one eye close In the deepest of naps. A tireless Orwell II of ours Dribbling with words of wisdom While a humble and eloquent giant Penning the history of the pharaohs To feed generations of times So they know the gone dark moments.
Note: Rene, I join you in paying a tribute to our brother Baba Galleh Jallow. Certainly, a tireless and selfless fellow, full of energy and love. The poem is also dedicated to all those who share the struggle through their mighty pens, efforts et cetera.

Uncle Suntou,
Thank you. I am a little tight-up, but i acknowledge reading your rejoinder to Galleh's tribute.
Mine is too small a "dot" compared to Galleh who spent two-thirds of his life educating and sharing hiw views. But i appreciate your encouragement.
Since the closure of the "Independent," he never gave up. His pieces are a "must-read" in these media outlets.
In turn, i take this rare opportunity to re-dedicate it to you and the many other true educators in these media outlets.

Note: Welcome back! Thank you for the momentum at the other forum. I am following your feedback, and your direction is worth emulation.
More dua' inshallahu. (fii amanil lah)
With love & regards, Dalton |

This is also my dedication to Baba Galleh. I know him personally for more than 25 years now.

You are older than the rocks in the outskirts of Yerol-Bawol. You made us believe you a kondorong, but in actual fact, i am seeing a lofty mamapara. If you've known Baba Galleh 25yrs, then how old are you??? But true, you've known a great educator.
The poem is also dedicated to you & the many like you.

I am just 4 feet tall.
Baba has always been interested in the litery world, a great debater in school, but one known to be quite serioius looking. He was very religious too and observed his five daily prayers.
Infact one of the reasons why Baba lost the Head Boy position in his High School was because the students thought him to be too strict and who would enforce the five daily prayers.
The link below is from the Shongai tribe from which the Fulani and Hausa people are believed to have some ancestarl lineages. The sound of the music is typical Fulladu style. Enjoy

Can you translate some of the proverbs for a student like me. |
