Right, only if they are/were subject to US jurisdiction. Being born in the US with diplomat parents excludes one from US jurisdcition and therefore not a US citizen. This is according to the fourteenth amendment of the US constitution. The question is, when Zainab gave birth in DC, was she under US jurisdiction? If she entered US territory as a diplomat/executive member of a foreign government (carrying diplomatic/executive passport)then, she wouldn't be deemed to be under US jurisdiction and the baby, according to the constitution will not qualify to be a US citizen (granted he/she can follow the regular path to naturalization later on in life).

Now, whether the law has been followed in her two cases of delivery in the US, is not clear to me. If in fact they are granted citizenship (you can easily find out in the US), one can give Jammeh his usual doze of hell and pettiness by challenging their citizenship in any US court and have him rant and rave all he wants.

Fellas,

You see I think our dear sister doesnot see the picture as she is blinded by her love for the monster.

If Jammeh so loved the Gambia so that he sacrificed his life as he claimed to save the Gambia from Rampant curruption ect ect, why would he want another citizenship for his childreen? Please sister answer that question!

For your earlier statement that Gambians in their majority loved and voted for Jammeh.Yes you are right

I think you have a little brain thats why you fail to realise that dictators do have accomplises!

Remember! haven't some majority of Germans loved and supported Hitler?

Haven't some Iraqis in their millions supported and loved Saddam?

Haven't some million Former Zairians loved and supported Mabutu?

How about Tailor of Liberia, Dr. kamusu Banda of Malawi,Milosevic of Kosovo, ect ect the names goes on and on and on!

My dear little brain all the above were brutal dictators who maimed and killed their own people just for power but yet none of them individually had ever used a knife to cut any one. They had their tugs who carry out their dirty works for them.I must tell you Jammeh is worst than all those put together because for him he does and denied any wrong doing by lying open on national televission and radio the the opposite happened. So I am really surprised you would come up with this idea that Yaya Jammeh has support in the Gambia.Which ruler would have no support amongst his/her people and you last a day?

Tell me fool.

I must tell you this will be my last posting to ry and enlightened you.You are a married woman and your own childreen would blame you tomorrow if they realised that you support mass murder, tuture and imprisonment of innocent people.Good night my sister.

Nbb- Thank you I don't need any magic water and I was oppositing Jawara but if I am given the floor to compare Jawara to Jammeh in terms of leadership, my sister it is 1000 to 0000.1

Janyanfara there is no need for you to concern yourself about my family pay attention to your own! Be careful what you wish for others because it might just bounce back on you!

Janyanfara, you see I don't expect you to agree with my views. I am exercising my right to Freedom of Speech regardless whether you or any one else agrees with my views or not. Freedom of Speech is what the Gambian Opposition say that they wish all Gambians to have. But it seems this precisely what is lacking amongst the ranks of the opposition; tolerance amongst those who profess to be vanguards of Gambians Freedom of Speech!

So Janyanfara go ahead with your incoherent ramblings and your 1000% support for Jawara the period when time stood still and Gambia was almost the poorest country in the entire world! Obviously though you were personally profiting off of the backs of the poor. If that is your dream for Gambia in the 21st Century, go head and keep on dreaming because the clock will not rewind on Gambia's progress. If you are an example of oppositional vision it is not surprising why the APRC is still in power because your vision like the Jawara era is redundant!

Peace

Guys and gals, we should take this discussion with absolute seriousness. The fact that our first lady will fly to the U.S to deliver a baby is terribly telling on our situation.

It is very sad that not only would the first lady come to the U.S for delivery but Jammeh's mom was flown out of Africa for treatment. This only shows how terrible and uncaring our leadership are for the welbeing of our people.

I wanted to share a story which happened two weeks ago of someone I know an a 22 year old girl who delivered TWIN babies premature at six months old. When the angel babies were borned they were rushed to the Despensary/medical clinic 10 miles away.

When they got to the clinic on a DONKEY CART the doctor could not do anything to help them. He referred them to the hospital over 100 miles away but guest what?? There was no AMBULANCE or transportation to transport the babies. They went to the local chief and still no transportation.

Now the worst nightmare, the little innocent angels were put back on DONKEY CART back over 10 miles again without medical attention. The young girl in the maintime lost blood and was unconcious.

Fellows one of the babies of the girl passed away that night. The other baby passed away the next morning when they were waiting for a transportation to go through the pot hole road to the hospital.

Now please tell me, what in the world has these babies do to deserve such cruel inhuman circumstance? Does any human being deserve to live a life under such horrendous conditions? What in the world can any government or people do to protect their people more than to provide them with basic simple facilities for treatment.

Does anybody really sit down and seriously ponder if these were their kids, daughters, or wives? Did we see how serious and a sorry situation our people live in? Does anybody have anymore human soul to think about the welfare of little angels?

Do we want to know what happened to the mom of those babies? No. Fellows if there were basic facilities would those babies not survive? How about their mom? How many of such stories are happening across our nation on a daily basis?

How could anybody think the current leadership in Gambia and across Africa care about our people? How sad fellows to see our first lady come to deliver here but others are dying daily?

Excuse me please this is too emotional for me... I am sorry but I think no one deserve such neglect...

Omega, You're what is known as two face individual. Worse still, no true identity. If you're the person you claimed to be, then you by now should be in neutral position when it comes to Gambian politics as far as evidence against Jammeh is concern.

Your support for this regime cannot take freedom of speech hostage. If you love the Gambia as you claimed, then think deep regarding the concept of freedom of speech and most importantly all the issues the critics are concentrating upon. These are facts that cannot be ignored by sincere and honest citizens and true friends of The Gambia. If you engaged the concept of freedom of speech, then clearly you are now standing on a naked platform playing the game of hypocricy. Is it the opposition or the Jammeh Government who is having problems with citizen's exercising this right?

Thanks for your explanations, BambaLaye.

Karl, a very good question: "Is it the opposition or the Jammeh Government who is having problems with citizen's exercising this right?"

I never liked to demonize a person lightly, and I always pointed out that to my (unprofessional) knowlegde not everything Jammeh did is bad. But nobody, not even SisterO, can deny that freedom of speech and press freedom are ignored in Jammeh's Gambia. Sister, what do you think why 'reporters without borders' calls Jammeh a 'predator of press freedom'? One doesn't get this 'award' for nothing.

Forget about the parents and lets give the baby his God given rights to came to this world. As a muslim this child deserve some prayers as he came on holy month of pilgrimage to Mecca. He came out of wedlock. It could be that some of Jammeh's pilgrims prayers have their prayers answered to grant him this child during pilgrimage. He also deserve proper naming ceremony from his parents and many should rejoice. May Allah long life, protect him and give hime more WISDOM THAN HIS PARENTS.

Good prayer there Kobo, for innocent little person; the new Jammeh baby. "My body die" for little baby for finding a home full of guns. God forbid, should one of the angry soldiers get drunk on a fateful day and spark fire on that little baby, Jammeh will have some event to cry about. And that is the danger of living with guns. May we pray that the guns remain silent until baby Jammeh grows up to defend himself by any attacks from the jungle.

Forget to remind the world that long before this baby was born, Jammeh already got him a luxury palace in the Heavens. Yes, he said that even his great grand children will live and migrate to heaven with wealth. Does the baby need prayers when his father is so confident about even life after this world for wealth from "Allah's World Bank." They are blessed even before they are born. One wonders where Yahya Jammeh builds such confidence about his capability to bribe even angels guarding hell!!

How sad that the twin babies died for lack of attention. This should not happen in these times.

I dont understand how any intelligent person can support the President. He was voted in by uneducated and frightened, intimidated people.

WHat has the President done? Built a few traffic lights and improved a couple of roads.

Go inland to the villages. NOTHING has changed. WATER FOOD EDUCATION TRANSPORT EMPLOYMENT. ALl the same state as 5 years ago when I first went. Apart from things done by NGOs.

Sister Omega do you travel the country? DO you see what I see?

With inflation life for the average Gambian family is HARDER than 5 years ago.
