Unfortunately, directly or indirectly Mbowe has to get his share of the blame. As a trained medical Doctor, unlike other political appointees, he has gone too far compromising the integrity of this norble profession. Defending Jammeh's case on HIV nationally and internationally has made Mbowe stand out among the lots of those marshalls the dictator ever used to undermine our collective interest.

No doubt, like he is doing to the whole nation, individuals are being used and abused by Jammeh since day one. However, as a trained medical Doctor, taken such a stand for a man like Jammeh on a global problem (HIV/ Aids) has clearly defined Mr Mbowe. After all said and done, who will say Mbowe is not narrow minded, particularly on the issue surrounding Jammeh's HIV/Aids cure.

I think that the best that can be said of this man is that he is not capable of telling the truth,
the HIV/AIDS and the latest rumour of "bad" rice,He has been used but as a medical doctor these two instances are truly shocking, his credability and standing are destroyed, now he has nothing.

Ofcourse mbowe's voice vibrates less in the Gambia but by joing the crowd he has helped silence himself and given boost to the other loud crowd. Either way, he shot himself in the leg by denying himself the little voice he has and by adding flame to the voices that stood to silence any divergent views.

In the case of Mbeki, he did not have medical doctors jumping around him. Mbeki was a propaganda secretarty in the ANc, a militant for all his life. He worked on a radio Station called radio Free Africa(something of that sort) in Zimbabwe. So his background is more of a militant but not Mbowe. Atleast Mbeki listens and constitutional guarantees are enforced in South Africa. We have to compare like with like.

Kondorong,

Mbowe is no less corrupt and greedy than any other deceptive Gambian. They all share this cruel ambition to rob and deny Gambians if that means for them scoring personal goals even for a short while like in the case of many before and those who will follow. Mbowe's actions were calculated and intentional. Before Jammeh's fall several of them will have their turn. It is a stampede of greedy pigs.

Che, thanks for the rejoinder. Mbowe had all the opportunity to remain on the sideline knowing that the issue he was dealing with was a false pretense.

The crime he commited was the fact that he stood before the whole world with his medical background trying to appease Jammeh by validating his assertions.

If you had watch his interview on CNN you will notice that some people might have even given him the benefit of the doubt because of his background and position on the issue.

There are many other secretary of states in the Gambia who knows what they know and never come out publicly to defend Jammeh's system. Those people are well aware that to Jammeh it does not make any difference whether you come out and defend him or not. When the time comes for him to disgrace you, he will without hesitation.

If you have notice, some of the people that Jammeh hired and fired easily gets position with the international community. This is what this mad Dr. fail to understand because of his ignorance.

Could you imagine how much Dr. Mbow's position contributed to peoples' doubts that HIV is even in existence? Could you imagine the impact he had on the UN pulling out their resources from supporting those groups like Santa Yallah who are specialized in sensitizing and providing aid to those unfortunate Gambians?

What about the impact on the minds of medical students, nurses that are under training? What a shame. I still believe Dr. Mbow should have known better. I will revoke his license in a minute. He is a curse to the medical community...

So sad...

All Heads of State have the right to dismiss Ministers whenever they feel fit. All a Minister can do is his or her best but if there is someone who is better equipped for the job then its time for them to go.

In all fairness, there are thousands of the 1.5 million brothers and sisters of Gambia BETTER PLACED to do the job of president than a killer Yahya Jammeh. Don't you still agree that those who are more fitting to the task deserve the occasion? For you to glue your nose on Yahya who is brutally tearing Gambia apart speaks volume. Remember Yahya was NEVER invited in the first place. He robbed the state machinery and now bends on exerting unreasonable pressure to be accepted. In a million years, Yahya Jammeh will not gain acceptance. Let him keep away from corruption, throw away the guns, keep the political environment clean. That way a free and fair politics is possible. Now it is not because Yahya is playing the cruel dirty hand to mar up everything. Are you sure Sister Omega, that you will stick to your FINE and GOOD belief that when a person who does not merit a post, that person is better off stepping out? Will you convey that message to Yahya for his own good!!

To be hiring and firing numerous ministers like changing pants is evidence of Yahya's incompetence to assess the most suitable candidates. If they were the right candidates and still fired for the wrong reason, that is still a serious defect on the best side of your commander president.

Mbowe deserved to be dismissed long time ago. A medical doctor that endorses Jammeh´s aids story without thorough scrutiny does not deserve to be a health minister. Although am pro Jammeh, I had and still have my reservation about the aids thing. however am still open to all possibilities.
Mr. Malick Njie a very good doctor and the new sos for health should know that he is no exception to Jammeh´s electric broom. Pachah Njie as he is known is a very professional and his approach to his patients has been wonderful. I recommend for him to resign from gov´t duties and continue his successful private practice. I have so much respect for this man that I would not want him to be the political monster some pros like Dr. Mbowe turned out to be.

It is the mark of intelligence to entertain an idea without accepting it.

People have choices they can either accept a position or decline it, Karamba. In both cases Mbowe and Njie accepted the post of Minister of Health.
Bread man Njie has a profession to full back on regardless of what happens in his ministerial post. I am sure he weighed up the pros and cons before accepting the position of Minister of Health and the past doen't have to equal the future.
