After swift and critical media reactions to his purported appointment by arch political rival president Jammeh, Waa Juwara says he is in fact not the Chairman as widely reported. He confirmed being a Committee Member. The Point reveals.

"Juloo bulaa Baa la, aning baabula juloola abekiling" A mandinka proberb that means (putting the rope over the goat's neck is the same as putting the goat over the rope).
Serving your country and people is ok only and only if it is done in good faith and in the spirit of protecting the tax payers interest. I have my doubts Waa can be effective in such a position. |

Baldeh,
Accountants value assets and tag them at Book Value. Humans too have value elements that may depreciate like household goods and other durable assets subject to wear and tear. Users judge goods at face value. From whatever angle of judgment anything of good value has the possibility of wear and tear having some impact at end of day. It is said about people that they OUTLIVE their USEFUL LIFE. Others say, a person of certain effectiveness can also have his face burnt out; all referring to a proportionate decline in productive potential. If Juwara by account of his vast experience is able to beat the tides, good luck; otherwise, can't tell. |

I think Jammeh's act of co-opting Waa is commendable. Our electoral system should not be a winner-take-all system, and I hope to see more involvement of the opposition in government to serve the people as long as their opposition status is still respected and not compromised. This has a potential of broadening democratic participation. |

Mr. Juwara confirmed the story and said: “Really it is surprise to me, but I think it is a step in the right direction. The fact that President Jammeh has appointed me to the interim management committee of BAC, he has scored a big political point. It confirms that he doesn’t see everything from a partisan angle and that is going well for a small society like The Gambia.
“I am on record to have said that the last elections were free and fair and has given him political legitimacy. We must analyse everything objectively, praise where praise is due, and criticise where criticism is due with all one objective, and that is the betterment of The Gambia.”

they say if you want black people to understand you to bit them.or any method you want to used wouldnt work.words of leopold sedar senghor.so may be waa dont want to go through that processed he hard been through again.many people dont understand how marciless the nia and the green boys beat you.juwara realised his age and the sacrifies it takes for gambians to understand.is just matter of time all of the hopeless opposition would show their real colours.many gambians call yahya a killer and then change their minds and say he is the matyr.whats wrong with us gambians it seems we have bigger problems to deal with before yahya. |

Waa is a true son of the Gambia and he is one of a kind in his policies. He is a real politician that will follow the interest of the nation where ever it takes him. In this case that lead to work with Jammeh to bring more development. This is what i always say "If you can´t beat me join me" and share my strenght. Well done Waa. I give you another rose on the chest (medal). |

What Darboe makes of it. See below senegambianews.com
There are reports that Mr. Lamin Waa Juwara, a one time strong member of your party, who later formed his own party called NDAM, is now the Chairman of Brikama Area Council. Are you aware of this? And if so, what do you make out of it?
Darboe; Well, he is not the Chairman of Brikama Area Council. The Governor of Western Region is the Chairman of the Brikama Area Council. He [Juwara] is a member of the interim management committee. And what I make of that is, it’s the right of every individual to associate him or herself with any political grouping. I certainly think that I would respect his decision to change his political position towards the ruling APRC. I respect it whether it’s a right decision or not, I will not comment on that.
