I think UA is different from AED. i was looking at some figure on the African development bank's site and the quote UA34 BILLION to be equal to $53 BILLION.

if i remember correctly, its Unit of Account, its not a currency but its used by international finance inst. since they have funds in several currencies whose rates are changing daily.

ADB, WB , BADEA all use it. its like a benchmark, and to determine its value i think they use a basket of currencies, just like how oil is traded.

I found out that UA1.00 is equivalent to about $1.51.
