Ousman Jallow Hat-trick Put Club on Top By Modou Nyang
Ousman Jallow scored a hat-trick on Friday as his club Alain strolls to the top of the UAE league table after cruising 4-1 over Alzafra.
The young Scorpions goal poacher fired in his first in the 37th minute and picking up the other two late in the 82nd and 84th minutes. Jallow’s goal tally has put him on top of the UAE goal scoring chart only after the first week of the of the league season. His teammate Naser Khamis scored Alain’s other goal in the 42nd minute of the first half.
Alain entered the second period with a comfortable lead but Alzafra pulled one back early on through striker Syaosh Asghar, pushing the match into a tense atmosphere. The host missed a lot of chances but the ever rising young Gambian star, struck twice to seal all three points.
And after the match Chairman of Alain Executive Committee His Excellency Mohammad Khalfan Alrumaithy congratulated Ous expressing his delight in the way the club opened their account in the league. “ It is a very good start from your side with what you have scored, we wish you more progress and success with the team”, Alrumaithy told the elated Ousman Jallow.
But Ous refused to be swayed by the achievement insisting that he does not wish to be the top goal scorer in the league instead, preferring a team approach to achieve victory. Jallow also expressed his delight in the way he started his Alain league career and hoped that he could meet the expectations of the fans by pushing the team’s level of performance forward in their upcoming matches.
Alain are at the top of the league table after only one match thanks to Jallow’s three goals. They lead the table with goal difference. Alain opened their season with a 5-1 win over Duba Alfujeirah in the head of State Cup competition. And now they have followed this feat in the Cup competition with this stunning home performance in the league opener.
Ousman Jallow joined Alain in 2006 from local side Wallidan in an undisclosed amount. He failed to get involved in the Club’s league matches immediately due to age limitation at the time. And in 2007 he was loaned out to Moroccan outfit Raja Casablanca. Jallow could have since changed club this summer following his exploits with the U – 20 Scorpions in both the African Youth Championships where he finished top goal scorer and the Fifa U – 20 World Cup. According to Ous, Ukrainian Champions league campaigners Dynamo Kiev were interested in his services but a lack of agreement on transfer terms with Alain, affected the deal.
