the above quote from the Senior Civil Servant is a direct consequence of what happens when oppositions boycotts the legislature. Of course the ruling party will be able to get most of it's laws through without anyone opposing them. It is not the job of any ruling party to represent the opposition. Crying fool is one thing taking responsibility is quite different. Of course voters should go ahead and vote for the party of their choice that's their right to do so. If people don't know or exercise their rights then their rights can easily be taken away from them. Therefore for it is shortsightedness for people to forgo the opportunity to have their say on local issues by not voting. It is important that Gambians have a say in how their local councils are run and to make them accountable to their constituents.
