For a number of issues, neighboring villages or people do have conflicts. Aba, 18, from one of the hamlets decided that something must be done about it, because to leave the matter to grow or hang is worst than planting bombs to explode sometime. In his effort to resolute the matter, he started writing letters to the different parties and individuals.
Here is a letter from his diary-a carbon copy left out of the first letter he dispersed to Troy.
A LETTER TO A FRIEND; PART 1
Dear Troy,
It gives me the greatest pleasure to send you these few lines of mine. I take this opportunity to wish you well in our month of fasting, as it is a shared common faith.
It’s been truly a miss. You are best remembered for your smiles, laughter and your arguments. You know it is not bad to argue, but it is bad when you leave with no sign that you are coming back to Sareh-shedah. For the start, I know you will like it in Sareh-hewbeh, because your happiness is that you abandoned Shawn. You didn’t stay to negotiate a peaceful resolution, so all you did was just to argue with the people of Sareh-shedah and sneak out. It is my humble belief, preachers of peace and democracy must demonstrate it first themselves.
Here it is now, a negotiation for a peaceful resolution. When one quarrels, he/she must negotiate for a peaceful resolution rather than abandon his or her neighbors. One must never count favors they have done for others in a manner that embarrasses or humiliates them. One must never support injustices meted out to othersOne must keep to their bond-i.e. ‘word is bond.’
I hope mine isn’t too harsh? But even if it is, that all I am calling for is another chance for dialogue on the same table. Thank you Troy for your understanding. I intend to reach out to Shawn, Kenneth, Ryan, Brian and all the others. Meanwhile accept my companionship still, despite the latest encounter we had. I apologize I cannot use the words "I love you" because my wife and angelic daughter will be jealous, but that i share sentiments with a great many of you.
Yours ever, Aba.
Note: The Galleh-type satire to be continued…

A LETTER TO A FRIEND; P2
Dear Maxwell,
It is a sunny day in town today and you will agree, it is another nice day to hang with friends around a debating table while enjoying the brewed ‘attaya.’ So accept my apology in bothering you with my few lines. I am not writing to shave your grey-hair.
You are one of the people of Sareh-Shedah, ‘talk-all, leave none.’ You frustrated my young friend, Zaki in the manner you challenged his deeds, his arguments and even proved to be at logger-head with him over time. By doing that, you pushed his anger button to sprout a rage un-called for. I will appreciate it next time if you can say “Thank you for sharing. Here is what we need to improve on, or here is some rectification you might want to consider.” Remember being harsh on someone has a tendency to yield a harsher reaction or simply retaliation. It is also sad you have a habit of mentioning people’s parents or grandparents which to me will never hold.
Therefore Maxwell, consider the following:
1. Show appreciation to all the people of town, despite your disagreement. 2. Don’t bring in peoples’ relatives especially parents in debates 3. Don’t push people to get their harsh experience.
Accept my appreciation for your understanding of my words. I intend to reach out to Zaki soon. Meanwhile, I remain your companion in Sareh-shedah.
Yours Ever, Aba
To be continued…

Tapalapa,
thanks though. i will be running series on this " a letter to a friend"
A LETTER TO A FRIEND; P3 Dear Zaki,
I was thinking of how to start this letter, suddenly a friend phoned me who started with the words “ Shake my hand with all your ten fingers” so I thought I could ask you to unbend the ‘bakitoh’ fingers and shake your hands with people using your ten fingers. In my mind, I could hear the echoes furiously “Wipe it off! Wipe it off!”-I mean the dust.
Now Zaki, you will agree that your silence since your departure is just a minus to the many contributions to the ‘tesitos.’ Therefore, I call you back with a spirit of brotherhood. I know it might look hard, if not impossible to accept responsibility for those sharp cuts on peoples’ blood veins and throats, but remember it is still your utterance, no matter how Maxwell, Kenneth and Robert provoked you. I understand your frustration, though quick to caution you that the future holds more and better. It is therefore your temper that you should learn to cool down when dealing with temperamental friends whom you very well know are inciting harshness to get your true colors-and you vindicated them by your explosion. Now that you are either exiled or choose to self-exile, I thought I should not be a Judah, rather to still climb that tree to see you walking far with your dreams of being a practitioner at judgments. I once informed you, I will be at the farm then, and will never stop looking after the cows in the meadows.
Here is to you Zaki what you can do: 1. Learn to take time-offs when your friends criticize you 2. Don’t use any insolent language except if one uses it on you. 3. Make your points heard over and over, and don’t personalize things that far. 4. Everyone with a different opinion from you is not your enemy.
Finally, I look forward to your reconciliation with people of the city when we shall continue on the assignment of ‘togetherness.’ Sorry for my delayed letter, I just thought I could drop you these few lines from my heart. Even Troy critic of grammar misses you now. With my smile, I say good night.
Yours Ever, Aba.
A LETTER TO A FRIEND; P4 Hi Robert,
I enjoyed your companionship over the years gone. I truly understand your rage and frustration time and again, especially when actions of different people belonging to tribes comes into play. But your slogan “tribe this, tribe that” is truly boring. It only helps to reveal your admiration jealousy for these tribes, not withstanding any superior fantasy that might have been exercised by individuals’ stocked on tribal fantasies. It even becomes more complex from you that your only life-long philosophy is just that-‘tribalism.’ Your microscope is too petty with it. Too complex!
Now to you Robert, please take a note of the following: 1. We all belong to tribes, and are proud to associate with them, nonetheless recognize the values of co-existence. 2. Your differences with certain heads doesn’t interpret “tribalism”, rather it is your mind-planted notion. 3. In your provocations of Zaki, I appreciate you playing the ball next time, and not fouling Zaki with tribal shots.
I thought I could share with you how I feel, and I hope you don’t mind. Meanwhile, accept my appreciation for your renowned patriotism in practical efforts over the time past. I write to you because you are worth my salt.
Yours Ever, Aba.

A LETTER TO A FRIEND; P5
Hello Kenneth,
From the far comes a letter from me. Good job on your efforts to provide a meeting place. Indeed, a sacrifice commendable.
You already know that the letter is about my friend Troy and his brother, Zaki. Take no offense of my words. I understand that the differences existed before I joined you people in Sareh-Shedah. For your information, Troy is now in sareh-hewbeh, familiarizing himself with the people of that city, but his departure from Sareh-shedah was truly un-called for. As soon as Zaki left, he followed suite after a tussle with the city mayors- You and Derol.
I was thinking, you can uplift the ban for him to come home. It is certain that he overreacted. This cannot be done without drawing some rules about our heavenly city. I show you (the mayors) did just that.
Kenneth, from my observation, you need to make the city a free place to live in without banning anyone. Let him be free like the free air. I know it must be hard to bear the razor cuts of Zaki and Troy (Like father like Son) who directs parental language at you and Maxwell openly.
Here are some recommendations; 1. Let Zaki speaks as he wants without condemnation. 2. Avoid sharing topics of discourse with him 3. Don’t push Zaky to the corner, likewise Troy.
I hope you find mine valuable. Meanwhile, accept my appreciation for your noble undertaking of maintaining our city with all these infrastructures.
Yours Ever, Aba

Dalton, this is sheer poetry and should be published for all to read. U make the world a much better place to live in- do you write all this ???
Is it ok if I show my friend your writings- she works in a famous bookshop in Manchester- I would like her to review them and see where u could go with them
I cannot promise anything, but I think they deserve a review from someone who knows what they are talking about- they have certainly touched me
Looking forward to more - it is food to my soul
Best wishes
