It is important to know how to compute our national bills for e.g. Telephone bills (Gamtel/Gamcel/Africel), Electricity, Water (NAWEC bills) & others.

To start this exercise of re-computations of our bills, to know how it is calculated, how much we are charged and how much we are supposed to pay; we need this information from The Point Newspaper archives GAMCEL is the Cheapest GSM Operator Within the Sub-region under http://www.thepoint.gm/National%20Stories554.htm

Keeping track of our bills is as important as the current updates on prices of basic commodities, inflation and interests rates. Any updates are highly appreciated to understand in simple terms our billing systems

For once I agree entirely with what you say KOBO,it is far better I think to have a "pay as you go" system where you pay for things upfront by perhaps a card, then everyone is happy you know how much you are able to spend.Metering has improved over the years and all this is possiable, for water Electricity and of course phones, there is one drawback with water, the metering equipment is rather expensive with a card application system, and its not fair to expect the company to invest so much in this metering option. On the other hand if you are billed in the normal way you can use facilities before paying,BUT ,if I remember correctly someone at Gamtel made non payment of bills disappear, during the recent selloff, that agin is not good for the company.

That's interesting,KOBO and I are the only ones on Bantaba to have any opinion on bills, very strange, everyone else must be content the way things are then.
