dbadleh.i am not critising gainako.i like gainako.the issue is not about critising halifa for the sake of it ,it is about me not seeing the essense of exposing personal correspondence in a respectable online news medium.yes, you did what you have to do ,by publishing the information pass on to you by halifa or foroya but i expected gainako to edit some parts of that informaton for the sake of newsworthynes.please ,i am not venting any anger at gainko.i am just expressing a little bit of my concern at such over exposure by one of our leading politicain.we will believe halifa's statements without giving any proof of where he has been or what he has been doing.accept my appologies if i offend you demba. |

Uncle Santanfara, much respect to you at all times. I think Halifa or the invitors are suppose to be the ones to complain about their correspondence being exposed.
This is simple logic, we can edit an article, but an interview is an interview and unless we have something to hide, we must not delete anything from the interview.
The privacy belongs to Halifa and if he choosed to exposure it then it should be upto him. Frankly, the correspondence have nothing personal. Some unreasonable people like Nyarikang criticizes Halifa for everything and therefore seeing is believing.
Give the man his dues and don't criticize simply because you are not agreeing with him. The man is a resouce that smart institutions around the world are going to utilize.
I guess we agree on this topic that Gainako did the right thing.

Kobo, I love the resources you provide to the readership of this forum. I am a frequent visitor to allafrica but miss this one on the PPP machinery.
You have just validated everything I have been talking about with my learned friend Kondorong. This is exactly how the PPP dominated Gambian politics for three decades.
They continued to use local influence to bully the villagers from the commissioner to the head of the households. I remember my family though from the Baldehs was subjected to bully on every single issue because they supported an opposition candidate.
My brother almost gunned down many supporters of the PPP when they came to our home and ransacked everything they could lay their hands on. This is after votes were counted and the PPP candidate in the area won the elections.
There was bitter division among the local people and unity was a thing of the past. The dirty election tactics continued right through the Jammeh regime.
Commissioner Bojang in Georgetown used to lock up people for voting against the AFPRC. Chiefs were removed and chained openly for allowing their people to oppose the ruling party.
Apparently, this is what my friend Kondorong call the "THE PEOPLES' CHOICE TO ELECT JAWARA/JAMMEH.
More exposure of the biggest myth of a so called democratic regime and champion of human rights.

Thanks brother KOBO for the links. I paid particular attention to the formation of PDOIS. I once came across this document when I was in my first or second year in high school. Off course reading it now and again makes it more interesting and educative.
Imagine this was 1986, when Jawara was in his highest few years after the 1981 coup. This was when Gambia had the greatest opportunity ever to build a lasting nation with strong economic and second to none social system for our people.
This was the time when millions if not billions of Dollars were pumped to sir dawda after his restoration into "Democratic power".
What was PDOIS saying then and what is the reality since then and now????. I urged all to read on some of their statements.

Would lie to repeat Bantaba topic; FEATURE: Interview With Halifa Sallah - Part 18 http://www.gambia.dk/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5247
Gambia would never honour its heroes and legends like our neighbours Senegal in the field of POLITICS. For they have Dr. lamin Gaye, Sheikh Anta D'iope,Mamadou Jah, Ex-Presidents Senghore, Abdou Joof amonsgt others.
Keep on seeing names called P.D.O.I.S and HALIFA SALLAH and continue to hate them and smear campaigne against them. Continue seeing other names like Jammeh, A.P.R.C, U.D.P, Darboe (Mansa), Hamat Bah, N.R.P & N.A.D.D instead of "Let JUSTICE GUIDE OUR ACTIONS & JOIN OUR DIVERSE PEOPLES' TOWARDS THE COMMON GOOD!
