Thats a wonderful commentary for critics against the ICON, OUR POLITICAL MENTOR AND LIVING LEGEND to READ AND PONDER.
It also inspires us to make further progress and inroads in terms of TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION to open all avenues and allow all citizens and nationals to exercise their political will and live PEACEFULLY (without harassment, abuse or turture), PROGRESSIVELY (participate in national development, patriotic and allegiance to your country) and for PROSPERITY (For The Gambia Our Homeland! That All May Live In Unity! To The Gambia Ever True!)
Hope we will be there and I'll be there
PEACE! |

Sir Dawda contineous to serve as a living example of African leadership failure. If he disclosures his true feelings, the man is living in agony and in mental slavery.
In fact those of us who criticize this old man should lay our arms as the man is reaping the seeds that he shawed. There is nothing more painful than being reminded everyday of your failures and nothing he can do about it.
This is exactly how bad and failed leaders should live. This is why I oppose the death penalty. I think people should be allowed to live and witness the same misery they bestowed on their people.
I hope he serve as a bright example for Jammeh and those leaders who think a country belongs to them. |

| The article says the Jawara is the architech of the Gambian independence. Can someone tell me what role Jawara played during that time or refare me to books that I can read about it. The reason I am asking is because I have heard people saying that he did fight much as other did and that he just came in and get the prresidential post. |

Dbaldeh for your information you are entitle to your opinions. However I do have some observations and comments on your critisms.
1) Did you properly digest or exclusively focus on the article/commentary Sir Dawda Did What Is Right! by opinion writer Salieu E. H.John. Talinding Tel.7735501?
Use phone to forward feedback please on article Its going to be interesting to exchange with him directly on your opinions with his article.
I don't think so as you have not highlighted any point of references POLITICALLY against them as counter critisms. With due respect; your critisms appear to be mere personal vendetta against this GENTLEMAN, OLD DAD, ICON, ONE OF AFRICA'S ELDERLY STATESMAN AND GOOD AMBASSADOR. All the stuff were HATRED AGAINST THIS PERSONALITY, in my opinion.
2) What relevance is the death penalty in the dynamics of politics in the interests of TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION
We are human beings and learn from our mistakes. Isn't it? Sir Dawda Jawara would not have suffered this faith if the MANSA KONKO DECLARATION OF STEPPING DOWN was accepted or honoured because that was A BIG SURPRISE AND DONE VOLUNTARILY AND IN GOOD FAITH inorder to hand over power.
3) Finally, from your critisms you appear to TOTALLY CONDEMN AND DESPISE our gentleman Sir Dawda Jawara as in your own words ''I think people should be allowed to live and witness the same misery they bestowed on their people.
I hope he serve as a bright example for Jammeh and those leaders who think a country belongs to them.''.
What misery did you or the nation encountered to make you HATE THIS GENTLEMAN SO MUCH? You struggled like any other person to be where you are today with good profile and likewise Jammeh struggled hard to be The President of The Gambia today as RIGHTFUL CITIZEN OF THE GAMBIA Credit is due to all of us and we should not be condemn forever if we have the chance to do something GOOD THINGS TO SERVE THE PEOPLE, we should be allowed to do it. These are simple logic and sensible things we have to realised.
If you understand that this world is complex and dynamic you will accept GOOD INPIRATIONS FROM ARTICLE ON WHAT SIR DAWDA DID IS RIGHT rather than castigating this gentleman with HATE; in the interest of TRUTH, RECONCILIATION, PEACE AND PROGRESS!
In the lyrics of Bob Marley ''An angry man is a hungry man! A hungry man is an angry man!''
Please APPRECIATE THE WORDS OF WISDOM on the artile and Give PEACE A CHANCE! |

Bro Kobo, You have said it all to our angry brother/sister mawdo/Jarja Dbaldeh who just hate Sir Dawda without grounds.Sir Dawda is blessed and continued to be blessed no matter what some one thinks of him .We are all living witnesses to this fact. Just open your eyes to the reality,Sir Dawda has been overthrown and yet allowed to come home and live as an elder stateman with guards(The Jammeh government who called his leadership rampant corruption and mismanagement of public funds, now returned all his assets back to him in the name of reconsiliation) what more can a human being expect to have?Let hope his present successor would be accorded the same privilages. Mr/miss Dbaldeh You see, some of us who have suffered one way or the other in Jawara days because of our opposition to what we then thought were his government's corrupt practices, can now without doubt realise that the Man (Sir Dawda) was a real democrat who respects human dignity. This is no joke. End of statement! Good day. Janyanfara |
