Poem
....ANGELIC DAUGHTER
.............................................August 28th, 2007

The little daughter, of noble birth,
Descendant from the heavenly father,
As gift to life succession,
Born to her parents in the era of struggle,
Smiley girl, wrapped in garments.

The little daughter, of yours,
Is asleep in the middle of bed,
Breathing fast and slow,
Heart moving up and down,
Smiley angel, wrapped in clothes.

She smiles, cries, and wriggles,
and kicks, coughs, and sneezes;
She eats, drinks and suckles,
and urinates, excretes and sweats,
Smiley angel, wrapped in towels.

A look from daddy,
Is a blessing to the new born;
A look from momma,
Is a protection to the new born;
Smiley angel, owner of attention.

Lucky new born! Lucky new born!
I admire in jealousy of your love,
Fame, and era of arrival,
Because by the time you get tall,
A lot will be history of time.

Angelic new born,
Live long to insure your parents.

The poem is dedicated to Gainako’s co editor Demba Baldeh for his new born,
precious angelic baby girl. On behalf of the entire Gainako management, we
welcome the newly born baby girl and wish both the parents and the girl well.
The poem is also extended in love to all little daughters.

"There is no god but Allah (SWT); and Muhammad (SAW)is His last messenger." shahadah. Fear & Worship Allah (SWT) Alone! (:

Dalton, Thanks for the touching poem. There is nothing sweeter in the world than the experience of having beautiful healthy babies. It is a true life I will always treasure. Witnessing a little one develop from conception to birth, and watching them change and grow from stage to stage is the most amazing miracle I have ever seen in my life time.

In the middle of the night, watching a few days old baby smile over and over again is the must beautiful thing in the universe. One just wonders what such a young brain is thinking.... It must certainly be glorifying for it to deserve a smile. That smile is just what touches me and I am usually caught up in my own grown brain acting folish...

Thanks again...

Baldeh,

Congrats! Congrats, my brother in belief!! The above 2 stanzas summarizes your experience. But you are a lovely dad; a dad that is there for his family, friends and love ones, truly on concrete principle, at all times. In other words, the english men will call it "responsible, caring, loving, considerate"

[Yoh Jomiradooh, Allah Jom Dohleh, wurr nuh boh, mawninahboo, okka boh dinneh al-lis-laam, wahdah boh nafohwoh.amiinah. amiinah.]

In turn thank you for recognizing the poem. I am glad it made you reflect on your relation with your daughter. I am jealous of that smile from babies, because that smile "CANNOT" be unreal. It is pure and there as a smile without white teeth, but with reality.

Do you speak Jola, Mawdo Demba, if yes, I will give you a proverb?????

"There is no god but Allah (SWT); and Muhammad (SAW)is His last messenger." shahadah. Fear & Worship Allah (SWT) Alone! (:

Congratulations Dbaldeh and mum on the birth of your baby girl may she have good health, long life filled with happiness and prosperity.

Nice poem Dalton. It turned the clock back for me 24,23,and 21 years ago when my three daughters were born reading your poem made it seem like yesterday! Not to mention my grandaughter whose now walking and talking. It's funny how time flies especially when you reach a certain age.

Peace

Sab & Omega,

When the long time teachers come in, i am just forced to mellow down, and go into my snail shell for hiding. But thank you all for being there for us at all times. I am sure even those without kids can relate to it in some way, that's the beauty i learnt from all you commentators. Once more, congrats to Baldeh & congrats to all.
