I just started reading the Thread about Iraq's survival....

Half way through I see the topic changed to US and democracy.

I would like to share with you a documentary, some in the UK might have seen it on Aug.20.

Please have the patience and time to download and watch it,I can only recommend it.
It doesn't talk about Iraq, but about Latinamerica and Americas war on democracy.
A leader who does not work together with the US is classed as a dictator, the US even sponsors and trains political parties to overthrow governments that are blocking the US from their interest in that country.

A true eyeopener. This doc is about Latinamerica but the same tactics can be observed around the world.

You have to be cautious about anything pulled off the internet. We have come a long way from the 80s , and this excerpt is very scanty , it did not even elaborate on any of it's assertions. But I agree U.S. foreign policy has seen it's darkest days for example in the 60s when the CIA were very active in assassinating political oppenents around the world including Africa.

This was a documentary shown on British national TV by a well known(obviously not very well liked) reporter.Nothing dodgy from the internet

Please feel free to investigate about the author on

Twinkly - John Pilger has been around very long time & manages to unearth the darkest of details. If you dont manage to buy any of his books - do have a browse of him on internet.

Unbelieveable revelations in his book of 'The New Rulers of the World' also.

I went to the unveiling of the Nelson Mandela statue in Parliament Square, on the train I saw someone reading Freedon Next Time - John Pilger - nearly year old & it had by-passed me! Back to the bookshop next week!

Thanks for the link - I will watch it later.
sab.

Thanks for that link Twinky , I do not know John Pilger. The information provided on that link is so scanty it is hardly useful. He just made bold assertions without any substantiation. Did you see any substantiation ?

I know , its just about the blame game.Pilger is a sensational writer and a self-declared anti-west. You do not have to be anti-west to tell the story of the third world. All you need to do is be neutral. Good writers are neutral and objective.

Kay do I understand you to say that writing about effects of imperialism, super power agenda, anti-west and good critics of U.S policies cannot make you objective

Why are you comfortable with western ideologies and american
