1) THE CORE ISSUE - GHANIANS MURDERED IN THE HANDS OF OUR AUTHORITIES!;
2) THE PROBLEMS - POLITICS Vs DIPLOMACY, ALLEGATIONS, DIVERSITY (DIFFERENT VIEWS & OPINIONS) , COOPERATION, QUESTIONS OF PROBITY (FACTS & INVESTIGATIONS OF THE DEATHS ON CAUSES AND HOW?) AND ACCOUNTABILITY (QUESTIONS OF AUTHORITY, RESPONSIBILITY & LIABLIBILITY)!
3) LAW & ORDER - QUESTIONS OF THE NEED FOR JUSTICE, DUE PROCESS OF LAW, KNAGAROO COURTS, KANILAI COURT, INTEGRITY OF THE SYSTEM, MITIGATION AND RELIANCE OF THE SYSTEM, INTITUTIONS AND STRUCTURES!.
4) FINALLY - a. CONSTRAINTS AND SHIFTING OF FOCUS! FACE ADVERSITY, DIVERSION ON ATTENTION TO THE ISSUES, DISTRACTIONS ON MAIN ISSUES AND ALL THE COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWNS! b. LATELY - ATTENTION TO SEEK SOLUTIONS for e.g Quotes from Mansa ''True, he has all the power, but we gambians should look at ourselves for solutions instead of pointing fingers at Yahya Jammeh alone.'' Word of caution! Don't understimate P.K.Jarju's article and the worst case scenarios

Brother Santa, as always I see where you are coming from. My point is that it has become very common in Bantaba for people to be called APRC PATRIOTS, or Yahya Jammeh's secret agents in when they disagree with certain views. I have been accused of it in the past and I can dig in my achives and present here for all to see, hence my point about line toeing. I care less about Yaya Jammeh and his government. True, he has all the power, but we gambians should look at ourselves for solutions instead of pointing fingers at Yahya Jammeh alone. If we as a society wrer doing what we are suppose to be doing we would not be in the situation we are today. Yahya Jammeh did not appear from nowhere or in a vacuum. So merely getting rid of him does not solve our problems. This is why I am of the firm belief that we should look at the bigger picture and do what we are suppose to do. History has shown that morally and spiritually corrupt societies and tyrants go hand in hand.
In as much as I detest the current government, what I will not do is toe the line of some disgruntled 'has been' who probably had a hand in the making of Yahya Jammeh. There are some people here whose sole purpose is to keep beating a dead horse and expect everyone to join in.
brother mansa ,thanks for rejionder.i completely understood your posture .it is a correct point.yahya is not the absolute problem ,he has accoplices and friends.but also our society has lost many basic fundamentals. we only hope he will rule is accordance with rule of law and follow due process as he swore to do. life is a process of different turns ,no ones knows what tomorrow will bring ,we only should aspire for a better life and good treatment by our leaders .the insane thing nowadays is our leaders don't respect us and we in turn help them to disrespect us. the killing is a shame to me personally as a gambian ,i always wherever possible try to portray my country has a decent place to live ,and i proudly tell any one who cares to know where i am from.if they ask me what is your country's gdp ? i always tell them ,what gdp ? this to me is little important ,our country is a heaven ,lets try to bring back that human side of us. i don't care if yahya rule the gambia ,all i care is let him avoid the route of the tyrants .wasalam. kobo ,i learn a lot from postings always .danke .i have no heart feeling against any bantaba debator ,brother momodou has done a good jobe leting us pour out our hearts content . .even the kondorong don't scare here ,but the real issue is we are all brothers and sisters .i so much love to see sister sibo having her say ,we have very few open gambian sisters arround .mr patriot ,i respect your stand point but as karamba always points out ,when the gambia is concern yahya is relevant ,he is incharge of every inch of the small square miles ,we don't have any heart feeling or grudges against him ruling that country . we still hope ,our government will cooperate in helping the authorities properly and swiftly investicate the brutal murders.

The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) has indicated its preparedness to take the matter of the cold blooded murder of 44 Ghanaians in The Gambia to the International Criminal Court.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, on Tuesday October 9, 2007, Nana Oye Lithur, the Africa Co-coordinator of the CHRI, said following the unwillingness of The Gambian authorities to respond to the charges and aid investigations into the matter of the murder of 44 unarmed Ghanaians and other human rights issues in The Gambia, the next step would be to go to the International Court to seek justice and bring Yahya Jammeh to book.
The 44 Ghanaians were alleged to have been arrested while on their way to Europe by sea through The Gambia. They were said to have been accused of attempting to overthrow the Yahya Jammeh regime.
According to reports, they were executed in cold blood on the orders of the Gambia Head of State, Yahya Jammeh, two years ago. There was only one survivor, Martin Kyere, 27, who has been telling the chilling story to the rest of the world.
Since the incident became public, The Gambian authorities have not co-operated with Ghanaian authorities to investigate the issue.
According to Nana Oye Lithur, investigations so far conducted by Ghanaian authorities on the matter, were done outside The Gambia.
Citing the unwillingness of the Jammeh government to co-operate as hinderance to seeking justice, she said, the CHRI will be compelled to go to the International Criminal Court. |
