Over 2000 years ago Jesus was nailed on the cross (so the Bible accounts.) When he appeared before some of his disciples after he was believed to be dead, there were among them who did not believe. One of them had gone as far as feeling the palms of Jesus to confirm the nail marks. It is therefore normal that people in doubt beg for evidence. There will still be people who even after much evidence before their eyes, will keep doubting. As Jesus said to his disciples, "Blessed are they who do not see yet they believe." The point being that these pack of evidence we are all craving for will not drop like rain. It is certainly somewhere, whether we can all lay hands on it or not. We long for the blessed day when the whole evidence comes to surf.

Can you show me where I made such a denial. I never said people didn't die. What i always said was you and I and most commentators on this forum have no evidence linking anyone to crimes. I further caution you and your ilk to wait for the outcome of the Ghanaian investigations. I made it clear that if evidence show that Yahya partake in this crime, he should be held accountable, but until then I am not willing to convict him based on my personal disdain for him.

GambianPatriot,

If beating the computer keyboard to drive the needed information is what it takes, call that any name. Contributing to national development, yes! Is that what you mean? Since this is not a personal show of deeds, I prefer to reserve my take on that. If we all were to tender our deeds as national contribution, there are people you call names here who know and others know what they have contributed and continue contributing for the motherland. You or anyone may stay on speculating. That is up to you. If that pleases you, go ahead. The issue at hand is about a criminal regime with a criminal person of a president and innocent people being killed. This is strange of Gambia. Until that day justice prevails in Gambia, no claim to patriotism is enough. Preaching! Is that the other desparate choice of words?

Dude stop babbling. You haven't done jack that the rest of us didn't do. Nobody ask you to recount what you did for the country. Read through what I wrote one more time. Here it is:

Will you be there when violence erupts? You will be sitting in a London apartment sipping soda. Why don't you go home and advocate what you are advocating here on the Bantaba? Oh I see. That is for the Halifas, Darbos and Amat Bahs of the world. You get the drift? Keyboard commando?

GambianPatriot,

You seem caught up. Take your time. Don't shift the focus. When it is you to write for Pa Nderry to write YOUR TRUTH, that is no occasion of a cyber hero beating the keyboard. Out here, why are you so vexed about others you wish to silence because they conflict your views? Grow up!! The issue is certainly not about personal contributions to national development. Rather, this one is about personal responsibility for the many killings. Can you for one moment regain your focus and get on the task and not on others?

I am not shifting the focus. You come here every day with this macho gang buster wannabe behavior. The fact of the matter is your skin is not on the line. It is easy to act tough (like you do) while living far away. The average samba on the streets of Gambia knew nothing about the Bantaba. How the hell is the nonsense you are writting here going to change the game on the ground if you are not willing to put your skin on the line? You are preaching to the choir here....most people on this forum abhor Yahya's rule. But guess what it ain't gonna change anything.

I am not trying to silence anyone. I don't have the power nor the inclination to do that. I am a realist. You on the other hand think you are so big and bad. You think calling Yahya names is the best thing since slice bread.

If you or anyone can prove Yahya Jammeh killed these people, why don't you sue him? It is possible to sue foreign leaders for crimes they commit in their country in US courts. I don't see any critic of Yahya Jammeh taking this route. Why is that?

I consider these statements as shifting of focus on the CORE CRITICAL ISSUES at stake for the motherland. Lets try to appreciate our DIVERSITY OF OPINIONS, BECAME GOOD RIVALS ON DEBATES ONLY AND TO MAINTAIN THIS FORUM AS VIBRANT AS WE COULD PLEASE!

Karamba is a dynamic critic and good debater. Why the campaign to gag him for just just realising that he is exposing credible POLITICAL potential and sharing his opinions critically. This debate and share of resources in this forum is not about ''It is easy to propagate intransigence sitting behind a keyboard in a London apartment.''; an INDICTMENT STATEMENT. Who commit INDICTABLE CRIMES HERE? Is it Karamba or the state terror, abuse, torture, DEATHS and anarchy being exposed? Its really hypocritical to turn the charge sheet around for someone crying foul play in terms of GOOD GOVERNANCE, PROBITY, TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY!. The discussion was on INVESTIGATIONS, FACTS AND PROBITY and not on smearing against THE CRITICS

Its an open forum and smearing campaign against the credible CRITICS aint gonna help. Thats part of PROS AND CONS, FACTS & FALLACY, TRUTH & LIES, ALLIES & OPPOSITION, ENEMIES & FRIENDS or ''You are either with us or with them!''.

GambianPatriot, please don't nick another sacrificial LAMB ON THE ALTAR! WHY CAN'T YOU ACCEPT CRITISMS AND SHORT-COMINGS OF OUR AUTHORITIES? Quotes''Why don't you go home and advocate what you are advocating here on the Bantaba? Oh I see. That is for the Halifas, Darbos and Amat Bahs of the world. You get the drift? Keyboard commando?''

Why are you inviting him to became A POLITICAL VICTIM? Thats SELFISH AND BETRAYAL OF A COMPATRIOT, in my opinion! You should not decide whats BEST FOR HIM and you knew that its A DANGEROUS POLITICAL SITUATION AT HOME!. Can you deny that FACT AGAIN

[b]''Let JUSTICE guide OUR ACTIONS!

From Gambianow.com's: Gambia News: Ghana steps up investigation into killing of Ghanaians in Gambia
Aug 23,2007 by

Ghana has announced that a seven-member government delegation will be in the Gambia Friday as part of the continuing investigations into the murder of eight Ghanaians and disappearance of about 44 others in July 2005.

The incident occurred while the Ghanaians were on their way to Europe through Senegal, an official statement said in Ghana's capital, Accra, Thursday.

Political parties, human rights groups and civil society organisations have been piling pressure on the government to push the Gambian government to bring the perpetrators to book.

They were poised to demonstrate against President Yahya Jammeh at the AU Summit hosted by Ghana in July, but the Gambian leader stayed away.

The statement said the delegation, comprising experts from the Criminal Investigations Department, Ghana Police, Attorney General's Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Information, is working in close collaboration with the Ghana Mission in Dakar, Senegal, and other contacts in the Gambia on the matter.

It said "the final phase of Ghana's investigations" was due for completion in September 2007, after which a final and comprehensive report would be presented to the Government.

Ghana's President John Agyekum Kufuor, on receiving the report in 2005, sent a high level fact-finding mission to the Gambia to meet with President Jammeh and high-ranking Gambian security officials on the matter.

During its first visit to the Gambia, the Ghana fact-finding mission proposed a joint Ghana-Gambia investigative effort to unravel the circumstances leading to the murder/disappearance.

The proposal was accepted by President Jammeh, who pledged his country's full co-operation to unearth the truth.

"Subsequently, a number of visits were undertaken to the Gambia, underscoring the Ghana government's commitment to pressurize the Gambian government's to consider all means available to deal with the matter," the statement added'' QUOTE ENDS.

COMMENTS:

The forensic experts are going to search for (DEATH BODIES) BONES and not FLESH. They may not be given the cooperation expected from the AUTHORITIES as they would need to LOCATE DISPOSAL SITE(S) OF REMAINS In my opinion, thats a very important ASSURANCE ON THE COOPERATION and CRITICAL (WHETHER THE AUTHORITIES WILL COOPERATE FULLY OR NOT) Lets follow developments later

GambianPatriot,
Your poatings are worth reading because you do not come up with accusations without proof. This is how a realible person with information do. I agree with you on all your points. You should know that you are not alone on the bantaba. There are those who would like to have evidence first before acting. Not like the former soldier who did the cope together with Jammeh but now he says he shall expose the man. Such things are undesirable because first he commits a crime then he turns his back on his accomplish because he is outside Gambia. Only fools belive such things.
There is too much disinformation among Gambians, this is why before I belive what they say I have to have proofs.

what apparent outburst are you talking about? Don't play chicken games with me.

santa to me:
karamba is just expressing his god given right .what do you want him to do? join the sing along crowd ?

What do you think I was doing other than expressing my God given rights? You see how convoluted you think? It is one thing for Karamba to express his God given rights, but it is a sin for me to do likewise. What a charade...

Santa continues the sermon thus:
since you consider your self a gambia patriot ,now the good name of your belove country is at stake yet all you do is vent your anger at innocent people ,direct your energy to the proper people

I am not venting at anyone. On the other hand you guys seems to have a problem with anyone who refuse to get on your Yahya hating band wagon. I love the Gambia like any of you and the sooner you realize that the better for your blood pressure.

Santa getting rational:
lets assume yahya is innocent of all accusations

That is the cornerstone of any criminal justice system. Suspects are assume innocent until proven guilty. That is all I have been saying. I don't have any affinity for Yahya Jammeh, but I am not going to convict him of a crime before the facts/proof is in.

Santa Continues:
but as a matter of fact ,he need to clear the name of our country and his good name

Isn't that what the Ghanaian/Gambian investigators are trying to do. While you and ilk tap on your keyboards and place blame without getting the facts.

Santa been delusional:
but been angry at karamba or any one else will just expose you to what we all expect from the new breed of aprc patriotic slogan .prove us wrong .

I am not angry at Karamba. That is either your mind playing games with you or your comprehension skills are lacking. Furthermore you can brand me APRC to your hearts content, that is your problem. You think hauling insults at the APRC behind a keyboard in the comfort of the western world is going to change the nature of the political establishment, then I got a bridge in Seattle to sell you.
With regards to proving you wrong, I don't claim as you do to categorically know who murdered the Ghanaians. I have been cautioning folks to let the investigations take their course and if they find that Yahya is responsible for these murders, he should be put to justice. That was my stance from the beginning. I am not ready to convict him of a crime that I can't in good faith prove he committed neither can you?

Thanks Kobo for your remarkable good sense and clarity. We have yet another casualty from the ranks of the Gambian patriotic movement. Since when Yahya Jammeh risked his wild venture of staging a coup in Gambia, he succeeded in building an army of supporters; some in uniform, others in plain clothes. In the world of Jammeh and all those behind him, the easiest way to anger them is when you expose one of the many flaws of the brutal regime. EVIDENCE, EVIDENCE, EVIDENCE !!! What more evidence do we need than the fact that a killer General is bent on his perpetual scheme of eliminating living beings (humans and animals) and mounting cement and dust structures, calling it development? A criminal gang calling itself armed patriots is not what Gambians deserve. We will get to the bottom of all the killings some day.

Santanfara, let GambianPatriot beef up his files to better defend Jammeh on trial. If we are using computer keyboards, what is our dear Patriotic Gambian using in his bid to smear Pa Nderry? We are not sure if Pa Nderry cares about a site created in his honour. Little does GambianPatriot realise that he is in reality advancing the job of Pa Nderry. I can't remember one comment from Freedomnewspaper in response to GambianPatriot.

GambianPatriot, if you are confident about the innocence of Chief Yahya, stay put. Why are you bothered about what is written by others? You bank on the lack of evidence, while we push on for justice. Since you are sure without evidence all is OK for big man, why worry? Don't you trust your lack of evidence is sufficient ground? You keep to your side and let others be on their side. If it takes rattling Yahya's cage to let him cough out the truth, this we must do. Have a good day.

Are you slow or what? Why would nderry do such a thing? And the blog is not created in honor of nderry. Get your facts straight.

Karamba went on:

The same could be said of you. If you are so confident that Yahya is going to jail for these murders why are so annoyed by those who caution temperament until the investigation is done.

Karamba went keyboard commando on me when he wrote:

This would be comedic if the atrocities we are discussing are not so serious. You think Yahya lose sleep over the huffing and puffing you do here? Lord have mercy. You are beginning to believe in your self grandeur. How exactly are you rattling yahya? Come on men...be serious.

It is rather ironic that all what some people on Bantaba want is for everyone to toe the line. The fact of the matter is that there are no lines to toe here, be it in support or against the current government back home. To them, merely asking for objectivity tantamounts to being an APRC PATRIOT. I am of the firm belief that we should all be gambian patriots regardless of what we think of the current government.

Gambia is bigger that Yaya Jammeh and thus we should channel our energies towards making Gambia better.
