We may not know so much about his remote past, but Yahya Jammeh, president of Gambia, certainly has some history worth sharing. He emerged from rural Foni Kanilai, was schooled in Bwiam, and ended up staying with a Tamba family in urban Banjul. Tradition has it a certain Jammeh family in Kanilai treated broken bones. No clear track of record proves our president is a biological descendant of the bone healer Jammeh family of Kanilai. In his height of political power though, army Major General Yahya Jammeh now claims super natural powers of healing, placing himself above all traditional healers and modern medical and health professionals. We now have a mystic man doubling as president and healer. Those who dare to question his multiple claims of all-round healer risk being killed for not believing. What is the reality of Jammeh ? Is he truly an all- round healer or a fierce killer? What do you know about the history, myth, and reality of Yahya Jammeh? Does he also command mystic powers to generate and multiply wealth? Because he is our president, it is our right to know much about him until he steps down after 40 years in forceful political power. Let those who know what the rest of don't about our mystic hero president tell the world.

He always comes from hallucination. Medical doctors need to check whether he has chemical inbalance in his brain system.

Good and clear that someone like yourself coming up with this vital clue. The rationale for bringing up this issue is that Yahya Jammmeh the man, bends on inducing fear in Gambians. he wants the population to take him for what he is not. Why do we have to fear a man who lives in our shared property (State House Banjul) and gets paid by our tax money. Above all, he takes advantage of executive access and misuses our state funds willy-nilly. The population deserves to know better and to demystify Yahya Jammeh; strip him off all the false glorified imagery he indulges in. We in Gambia have not agreed to create a monarchy and in the 40 years of his forceful rule, Yahya Jammeh can never succeed transforming himself King. The entire Gambian population needs knowing so much about Yahya so that we take our rightful stance. The ball game he is playing is not what we expect of a political animal voted on terminal grounds.

Much thanks for being an illuminator.

Don't you forget so soon about his world bank? Or God's bank??

If for anything, the guy came to power a soldier with the help of his comrades, in the process get drunk with power, bigotry and arrogance; art of killing, and art of looting. It is sad to say, and to grasp that a one time harmonized Gambia has been turned to a state of tear-dropping populace, to say bye-bye in the morning to your family, only to be come a guest at mile two or end up being a corpse.

He just vindicated all when he said "Even his grand children will not be poor on earth."

Back to this Jammeh bone fracture healers, will inshallahu thread on them....it is sad however that the aids doctor can steal medicinal secretes from traditional strong fellows, without due respect to origin...........plagarized it, that's crime number one........"carbon copy, letter to letter, word for word............."

Dalton1,

Those who think the fight is on Jammeh's figure will soon realise that is not the case. If the population refuses to be ruled the old way and become increasingly ungovernable, that is what Karl Marx would call a revolution, not the July 22 manner of robbing the state machinery by one stroke of violence. Your last input is quite chilling. Why a whole population continues watching with folded hands in this uncivilised state of affairs is pathetic. In the next round of events, Gambians need to create a political environment that will never permit the exercise of dictatorship. It is clear that Yahya Jammeh is not our target. Dictatorship of any mode is the issue at hand. We must not accept dictatorship, neither by the proletariat, nor by an elected few. Dictatorship is not what Gambians choose to be ruled by.

On the many false claims of Yahya Jammeh, even the people of Kanilai know the truth. Their silence must not be interpreted as show of approval. Yahya is simply misusing the state machinery to portray an image that is not true of him. The message must go to all parts of Gambia that we have a man, Yahya Jammeh, who is no devil or angel as he projects. The more people that resist his brutal and crude ways, the more effective. From all that goes around, Yahya Jammeh is only a simple man who likes to be seen as sophisticated. The History, Mystery, Myth and Reality of Yahya Jammeh, what is the truth?
