I wonder why this went to court, and was withdrawn, could it be that the brit wanted the police to actually do their job,or was it a case of racism!

you risk being accused of racism yourself since you are implying they didnt do their job! where you there? or is it just your own prejudices?
maybe you mean the brit was being racist towards the officers for simply doing their job inside a Police Station.
but its the funny side of our judicial system that puzzles us all, i wonder what happened to Alagie Ceesay!!!
i think from the article its clear that it went to court because a police officer was assualted inside a police station.!!!!!
to be fair to the brit, he should never have been charged with 'idle behavior'. The charge was wrong

Er... since when has racism had anything about doing your job ,No I wasn't there, but I can imagine what took place,as I am sure you are able to do,Gambia is a country where everything takes time.......sorry we havn't got any paper.........Er.... no pen here...you will have to wait until the detective is available... In the meantime the poor brit who has just had a crime committed against him loses his temper............not a good thing to do in a police station,so he got arrested quite right, later the brit cooled off made restitution and apoligised to the officer.job done!
Alagie Ceesay.........never heard of him why |

Sorry, toubab, but I saw toubabs behave very arrogant to Gambian or other non-white officials; they would never dare behaving like this at home! |

are you serious?
regarding Alagie, if you read the link you posted before (above) from the Point Newspaper you see his name. here's some text from the paper
''According to the facts of the case as adduced by Sgt. 870 Touray, the incident happened on 14th August 2007. The accused, who was reportedly robbed by some people, allegedly chased one Alhagie Ceesay who ran into the premises of Kairaba Police Station. '' |
