Those resident in UK, please visit Tescos stores and enjoy fresh Gambian Mangoes at £1.48 = D75 (approx @D50/£). Thats good news from a Kanilai farm's agent neting foreign exchange and promotion of Gambian products overseas (EXPORTS!). Are mangoes still available at home ranging from D1 to D20

However can't we experiment on state farms for self-sufficiency to supplement Government expenditure on the Army.

I think Tesco is a SUPERSTORE IN UK AND OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD! Isn't it "Every little helps" is a fine slogan and its great to see Gambian Mangoes on display out of competition i terms of QUALITY, PRICE AND FRESHNESS (NATURAL or ORGANIC). That little MANGO! is a sign of development.

I bought gambian Corn (grown by Radville farm)for a pound each. TESCO is a big supermarket. I also shop at ASDA("ASDA Price" jingles). Farm Foods is also great on discounts. Their trademark is "Way Below" usually done by a pig

Diversification of export is the key. Let's put the groundnut on the side and go for other things. Just enough groundnut for my favorite "domoda".

Rejoinder on CURRENT EXCHANGE RATES from topic The Dalasi Appreciates under http://www.gambia.dk/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4207

Thanks Kons as one of these; i.e RADVILLE FARMS, CITRO PRODUCTS or JAMMEH FOUNDATION (KANILAI FARMS) might be the BIG BUSINESS on marketing our QUALITY MANGOES and other fresh products in the International market. Its interesting to supply one of the biggest SUPERSTORES and meeting DEMANDS OF MILLIONS OF MANGOES available on the market for a season.

Thas great! Isn't it

Thanks - I'll look out for the mangoes.

Tesco also aell 'baby' aubergines from The Gambia. They're great for stuffing. Funny thing is I never saw aubergines on sale in The Gambia (except vastly overpriced ones in the supermarket). Do Gambians eat aubergine/egg plant?
