There was nothing about marriage in the newspaper report, all it said was "live with her" which I think is different from marriage,or is it?

Please don't be sorry,it was not my words it was the words in the piece, one would assume that there might have been a marriage, but there wasn't, thats why I headed this topic with the word "arangement",easy mistake to make.

But men have married women much younger than themselves. It looks like marriage is defined by men and not the other group.

If its good for the men why not the women folk. In matters of love, who dares define what is right or wrong. If they are happy with it, then let it be.

I am not sure if the report is very clear as to whether they are married. I could not find that evidence.

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.”

Toubab, did you want to liven up the forum? Sensationseeker! I bet you were hoping for us women to tumble over each other....
Lucky lady or lucky man? Well, as Kondorong already stated: they are both lucky if they are both ok with the situation. The woman looks a fit 75-years old. Married or not married, who cares?
One thing is strange, though. The woman is quoted to say that she knows her reputation is ruined. If she is so worried about living with such a young guy being bad for her reputation, why did she go to all this trouble to have him live with her in the first place?
I truly hope the young man is not already dreaming of a big inheritance........his 'girlfriend' is obviously well off.

When an old African dies, it is as if a whole library has burnt down.
