Karamba
I have been following this debate from the begining. I cannot believe m eyes when I read some of the stuff they write. How can they be so danm blind to what Jammeh is doing back home. If the youth have it good n Gambia they wouldn´t risk their lives on these boats. Jammeh is jeopadizing the feature of the country. If the younger generation losing thier lives like this, who the hell is going to run the country in the future???? Or maybe Jammeh thinks that he is gonna be there forever.

If Gambian Youth are living Gambia and risking their lives by being killed at sea because of Jammeh. Then why are youth from Ghana, Nigeria,Mali,Senegal, Cameroon, Burkina Faso,Niger Cotel'voire all over the South doing the same thing is this because of Jammeh too? Why are Somalians, Zimbaweans,Malawians, Angolans DRC etc. All leaving their homes to risk their lives coming to the west? There are no jobs in Africa. Why is that? Now ask the question again why is there mass migration by Youth to the West. Jobs, Jobs money money not Jammeh! Jammeh!.

Gambian youth aren't stupid and not all are willing to risk their lives to come to Europe. Because if everyone left the country what would happen then?

It would be a breath of fresh air for Gambian youth actually living in Gambia actually contributed on this forum.

Fortress Europe and America coupled with unfair trade more of a threat to the prospects of Gambian and other youth outside of these continents than Jammeh will ever be. Let's keep some perspective!

Sister Omega! Foroyaa is challenging government to invest more on the youths as they are the future of the nation. They are not putting blame but forwarding proposals and exposing them on new policies and programmes; in all aspects of NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT.

Refer to these quotes and assess them properly; "Such tragedy can be avoided by transforming The Gambia into a liberated, dignified and prosperous country, where millions wasted could be ploughed into the productive sector of the economy to provide employment for the youth and women as well.

The task of transforming the Gambia is a task for all Gambians especially the youth. This is the clarion call of our time. Gambia belongs to us and we cannot run away from the responsibility of transforming it. We cannot wait for outsiders to do it for us. They can only influence the process but cannot bring change here.

Read Foroyaa regularly to become aware and be part of those who will shape the destiny of this nation."

Thanks on your performance in this forum as GRAND DEFENDER OF CURRENT REGIME!

Thanks for the link Kobo in answer to your queston:

Foroyaa is to be commended on raising this issue for Gambian Youth are major stakeholders in Gambia's future. Therefore I agree that more investment needs to be targetted in raising awareness about their positive role in creating a prosperous Gambia. The answer lays through their hard work and efforts to achieve goals which they set for themselves. Government needs to provide a framework for appropriate education that will equip the youth with the necessary education and skills to achieve these ends. Thereby strengthening the learning and development sector to inco-operate vocational training within secondary schools or through Apprenticeship Schemes. These would at least give Gambian Youth wider opportunities in job creation. This will then enable Gambian Youth to take up their responsibility to actively participate within the process of transforming the nation and restore their sense of dignity.

It is necessary that practical solutions are put into place to prevent needless deaths at sea to escape poverty. The only solution to getting out of poverty is through working. Within the Education system there should be included within it Gambian Citizenship in which the youth can actually contribute their ideas and come up with strategies for the challenges they are facing. Gambians have the power to create a prosperous society once they know how to do it. The sky is the limit!

Sister for the first time you say something good for the future of your addopted homeland.Investment on the youth. But who should do that?
If as you said earlier that youth from other african countries are leaving for the west for greaner pastures, I must inform you it is because their governments have failed them otherwise they wouldnot.Do you belief that there is no place like HOME?

Sister as promised earlier, I will never discuss Jammeh with you but I have a doubt that I wish to clear with you!

Throughout your postings, you have never mentioned developments from your ancestral home Jamaica!

Does it mean you have abandoned the home of your parents and become a Gambian just like your parents did abandoned it and addopted Britain as a home where you were born?

What a shame!

Anyway welcome to the human race.Gambians will only welcome you if you keep smiling for we are the smiling coast of Africa!
