When Aba Lincoln defined democracy ‘for, by and of the people’, did he accounted for the lapses to arise in the future as continually seen today when every Tom, Dick and Harry will boast of it? Or did he also foresee the advantage that “criminal rulers” [courtesy of B. G. Jallow] will take on their nation’s citizenry? I get flabbergasted at times. In all respect, he couldn’t have been a man of mere Chicago toddler. The man was thinking right especially after he joined his parts on ‘democracy’ and ‘abolition of slavery.’ How close is the Gambia to reaching Aba Lincoln’s memorandum? Hopefully, some day.

Dalton , the type of democracy abraham lincon was talking about and the one's we have in modern global arena is totally different. i was listining to a lady political commentator today and she said one very vital thing '' most politicians can't connect to the people they are serving and they don't like the people neither do the people like them .when politicians use to be former miners ,drivers ,farmers ,working people ,teachers etc then people use to connect with politicians but now we have career politicians ''.
she was spot on. the british blair is leaving on wednesday on a bitter legacy . good bye blair.

my good online uncle,

i totally subscribe to the above. it couldn't be stated better. i am also of the view, that prophet Muhammad's democracy or Islam's democracy is the best one. Here is a humble prophet, a head of state who will care more about the oppressed , sick and suffering. not the kind of aids healers we have today.

i can't help but laugh at democracy in true mockery. ha ha ha.
