http://allafrica.com/stories/200706041320.html please read this, because i think this the reason that gambia should take note of what is happening in this part of the country. 5,000 refugees is a lot a people to feed and house.

Toubab,
i just searched through the achrives using your name to see the topic. see, i missed it then. though, i might/might not have participated not because of ignoring any contributor. sometimes it is feeling to be equally a reader who wants to listen and learn from others. i will be doing some research on it, and be promised of my full participation on this topic.

This is a topic worth discussion. Since without knives, guns and bombs, the place is just local and peaceful. I tell you what though, my home village is a mile away from cassamance. in the area, they locally produce guns, called "nokku ukkuh". it uses the gun power, as well prepared metalic chips, or broken small parts of metals combined with the gun power. that's real killer also.

we will look at the bigger pic as time permits.

thanks,

Dalton.

Sintet, situated right by the Bintang Bolong is a mile from the border on the eastside, and one of the capitals of Foni. The village is known for its diverse culture, and early education with a population of over five thousand people (5,000.) The village, Sintet, takes its name from the first "Bainunka" woman that lived in the area. The major tribes are Jolas, Fulas and Mandingos, ... (authored by me, 08/18/2006)

Toubab,

is this name familiar? Alexander Gibba, one of the rebel leaders, and one time of controversy on Gambian paper while situated in a particular hotel in the Gambia?

It is interesting to know. Some names and countries are coming up, but will catch you later on things. google his name and see if anything comes up under his name.

thks,

dalton

Now, if we should pin Libya and Ukraine via Jammeh, the cassamance conflict was there before Jammeh came to power, how can we justify this? Jammeh and Libya long since parted, also. Though a trustworthy souce has it that Alexander Gibba was housed in a Gambian hotel by the jammeh administration. Just a though on the issue as things unfold.

This debate is worth our time. I am beginning to grow interest to know a lot about it.
