Hang on a mo, it is about Gambia, are not those caught up in the fighting coming over the border to stay with family and friends in Gambia? who is going to buy food for those who have fled? A provocitive question, who am I provoking, those who are fighting, those who have fled? all I want to know is who are the backers of these people, one thing is certain that the people involved in no way have the money to buy weapons,as far as I know there are no Diamonds or Gold in the area,so is independence the reason for the fighting.
toubab1020, Your question about who supplies the rebels with guns is the problem. I posted my opinion because there are people who acused Gambia as to for see them with arms. There are some even who say that they escape into the Gambia and a certail village when attacked. There was a case involving Guinea Bissau, but not Gambia. There is a a rumor among some Gambians that the rebels are Jola so the Gambian army is involved. Which is not a fact. Is there anybody on the forum who knows where the rebels get their fire arms? The question itself is provocative. As I have seen some of the postings about the Gambian army and President and the Cassamance rebels. This is my reason. |

| ALHASSAN,Yes having read my reply,it does look strange,to try and explain is something that I cannot do ,it is well known that even the most learned of people are unable to come up with the same definition for truth, not a good answer I know, it reminds me of the question asked of a computer, "Why?" the computer became so confused it blew up! |

This is an important MILLION DALASI QUESTION and should be PROBED before it cost us de-stabilsation within the sub-region especially our neighbours. I tend to defer with Alasan that its Senegal's problem and does not concern us. When there has been crises in Sierra Leone, Liberia & Guinea Bissau, Gambia was politically & diplomatically (refugees etc) involved. We may be sitting on a timed-bomb and can trigger massive LOSSES of lives, properties & national assets on both sides (Sengal & Gambia). |

| toubabs question is legitimate in any case of proliferation. I think he didn't mean to accuse anyone personally. But if someone should feel adressed... |

Thanks for that, there was no intention of accusing anyone personally, but as we all know Africa has been a place where wars flourish and Gambia has been a peaceful corner of Africa, all that I have ever read about this problem has been that the people who live in Casamance felt that they were not part of Senegal but a seperate people I have never heard of any other reason for the conflict. |
