Who is supplying the weapons and money for these people to fight and trying to destroy the peace in this corner of Africa ?

toubab1020,
Why not ask the people themselves. I as a Gambian have no knowledge of who or where or when and how they get their weapons. Surely most of us on the bantaba does'nt as we reside outside Gambia. Such questions is better asked among the Senegalese. I am not sure where you want to head with this question? The rumors you have heard is not yet prooven or there is no body caught delivering arms to them.
I would advise you to contact them in Cassamance or their reps in France to get your answers.
A very provocative question in my opinion.
We are here to debate about Gambia and not our neighbours.
As Gambians we should mind our buisness and take our mouths from the neighbours state of affairs.

but surely your neighbours affairs will become gambians affairs if it is on Gambian soil, i read that they are coming to gambian villagers and the native villagers are heading towards other villagers. there is refugee camp near basse, so gambia should not ingnore the nieghbours problems any longer,
if you live in france and their are guns on french/spain borders, do you think the french would not stay awake.
NO GAMBIA WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE, guns on the borders of your country is to close for comfort.
Where there are guns, there is death.

jambo,
The Gambian army is there to protect the biorders. People have been taking refug in the Gambia since the PIAGC war. What he asked is who supplies them with guns. Can you answer that question? It is obivious that the Cassamance people have only Gambia to run to as they have only border with us on that side.
I know that where there are guns they could be used.
I surpose the Gambian army is awear of this fact and are on the aleart. Remember the people fighting in Cassamance have relatives in the Gambia too. Today, most of the refugees in the greater Banjul area live with relatives and friends. I have 6 or 7 relatives who are currently in the Gambia with the rest of my family.

Hang on a mo, it is about Gambia, are not those caught up in the fighting coming over the border to stay with family and friends in Gambia? who is going to buy food for those who have fled? A provocitive question, who am I provoking, those who are fighting, those who have fled? all I want to know is who are the backers of these people, one thing is certain that the people involved in no way have the money to buy weapons,as far as I know there are no Diamonds or Gold in the area,so is independence the reason for the fighting.

toubab1020,
Your question about who supplies the rebels with guns is the problem.
I posted my opinion because there are people who acused Gambia as to for see them with arms. There are some even who say that they escape into the Gambia and a certail village when attacked. There was a case involving Guinea Bissau, but not Gambia. There is a a rumor among some Gambians that the rebels are Jola so the Gambian army is involved. Which is not a fact. Is there anybody on the forum who knows where the rebels get their fire arms? The question itself is provocative. As I have seen some of the postings about the Gambian army and President and the Cassamance rebels.
This is my reason.
