It seems we now only have PDOIS and PPP (OJ) remaining in NADD. The following news is culled from The Point Online at http://www.thepoint.gm/headlines1857.htm:

NDAM Withdraws from NADD
Tuesday 10th April 2007

By Pa Modou Faal

The National Democratic Action Movement (NDAM) has withdrawn from the National Alliance for Democracy and Development (NADD), The Point can confirm.

What could appear to many as a sudden and unprovoked decision by the NDAM Executive Committee is contained in a letter dated 4th April 2007 and signed by Mr Lamin Waa Juwara, Secretary-General of NDAM, to the NADD Executive Committee. “I am directed by the Executive Committee of the National Democratic Action Movement -NDAM to write and convey to you our decision to withdraw from NADD Alliance with immediate effect,” the letter reads.

“We do not rule out the possibility of any alliance in the future but for now we strongly feel it prudent to go it alone.

“We thank you for the solidarity during our stay together as a team.”

Confirming their withdrawal in an interview with The Point yesterday, Mr Laimn Waa Juwara said he was going to the United States where their external wing is scheduled to make further consultations with regards to next step and programmes.

Any views on the above story? or is it just another betrayal? Perhaps it is because no one can put up with Ayatollah Sallah's arrogance. Or is it because the Dankunku Beast have come to realised that NADD is not an organisation for all Gambians but one Gambian, Ayatollah Sallah. Will we see a dissolution of NADD Soon as per its own MOU which states that the allaince should be dissolve once a majority of all parties have withdrawn? How are the assests of the allaince going to be shared? Another bye-election in Wuli? Oh! too many question to ask. Any answers?

Cheers

I do not oppose unity but I oppose dumb union.

nyari ,long time .your predictions may have come true of ndam but i still and will continue to believe that only a united force can dislodge this pretender.
ndam never contested any election and doesn't have immense influence ,there withdrawal is clearly regretable but there is time .
we are getting more and more stronger and enlightening .gambians don't wish to seat by any more .yaya will be dislodged By God's grace. as we remembered the dead school children ,more and more hope is drawn out .an english poet once put '' you can kill me ,break my burns and throw them away ,but one day my spirit would ride against you'' .
in hope the struggle continues .gambia for all .

True to the word, Brother Santanfara, Jammeh is running out of air. Times are going rough for him. He never prepared himself for situations as they now unfold. There is no retreat. No mention of surrender. When Jammeh runs away, nobody will think of this senseless game of things he calls governing. Jammeh's rule is based on no principles. He is simply riding on chance horses with full blown scale of pretence. Deep in him, he knows the acid is eating him alive. This insult has to stop. Jammeh created a situation where he made the best of things turn the worst. In a case of illegal conduct as coups are best known, what could you expect. In order to undo Jammeh, we have to scale him down to a dot. Where can a man who robbed a whole scheme of government grow big. This little pig could not fool us.

Unfortunately, Juwara and many others will run out of energy by the time they finish up with Jammeh. It is part of the big plans that Jammeh will run them down so he (Jammeh) remains for long as he dreams. Little does he realise that he already set bad precedence of disrespect for order and authority. Little children will boo up Jammeh much in the same way he does to elders.

Lets be sincere with Waa Juwara. The poor Lion of Niamina wanted to go it alone and therefore had to use an opportunity to do so. Politically, Waa is definitely insignificant considering his behaviour during the last National Assembly Elections. He has showed us his true colours and history will definitely judge him.

It is my prediction that Waa will cross- over to the APRC. His Uncle- Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara has already advised him to do so or face hard times in the Opposition Camp.

Sanusi, I also heard from a credible source that at one point a deal was almost concluded between the Dankunku Beast and the APRC to include him in the camp in exchange for position.

I think Gambians will soon be able to distinquish these Mr Big mouths who are in politics for personal gains from those sincere Gambians who are there because of their love for the Gambia and her children.

Cheers.

honestly all these 'has beens'have had thier chance to rape, plunder and pillage our nation. I have no faith in what ever coalition, alliance, they put together. Call it a way forward, revival, new beginning or what ever. So long as the old wine remains in the new bottle everything is doomed for failure.

I am a firm believe in the fact that Allah will never change our condition until we change ourselves. Out with the old crop, and in with the new crop of decent people who have the interest of the nation at heart. I will not be surprised if Juwara joins APRC, what I am surprised at is how naive we Gambians are.

My brother mansasulu,
You are very right.Infact a clasical example are there for all to see except as you rightly said naive naive naive we really are.
Think of ,[Those who hold ministerial positions in the old regime and yet still wanted more and more to steal]the likes of Dr.Fansung Durume Nafa Saho, Dr.Momodou Durume sk Manneh,Sheriff Durume m Dibba,Bubacarr Durume m Baldeh and recently Lamin Durume kitty Jabang. All these were people who enriched themselves with state coffers and yet because they were never contented with stealing, they quickly changed colour from blue to green and for sheriff blue, white and then green.Think of Fatoumata J Ceesay,Nyimasatta S Bojang,Sambujang Jange,Taborang Manneh,ML Joberteh[of Sibanor],Haruna Sabally,Kande kasseh Juwara of wuli,Fatou Sallah,Sira Faye Ndey Jatta, ect who was more PPP than these people? Can we quickly remind our selves of those people crying at Mansakonko when Jawara announced his retirement?[I was there and I can see some of them now, my God I sometimes wonder whether these people are real human or otherwise]My brother, belief it or not, some Human are capable of anything.Even God,if some can find him, they will do everything to eliminate Him.
If you think of the political situation of the Gambia, it is really pathetic.People can openly lie and lie and yet in two minutes, they will be seen performing abulution ready to face God for prayers without a slice of shame. This is just to have the dalasi. Many would rot in hell because of it and some will kill for it without remouse.Oh Dalasi Oh Dalasi what have you brought to our dear motherland?
peace

NDAM Youth Leader Spills the Beans
Brands Juwara as Traitor
Tuesday 17th April 2007

By Alhajie Mbye

The Youth Leader of the National Democratic Action Movement (NDAM), Mr Pa Manneh, has stated that NDAM is still part and parcel of NADD, adding that the statement made in local press early last week by Lamin Waa Juwara was absolute rubbish.

In an exclusive interview with this paper yesterday afternoon, Mr Manneh noted that Juwara took the decision to withdraw NDAM from NAAD without consulting any active member of the party.

“ The letter of withdrawal of NDAM from NAAD on The Point newspaper was news to me as it is to you. I, being the National President of NDAM, a member of the coordinating committee of the alliance, a member of the technical committee and still a member of the NADD executive, am not aware and did not take part in any meeting of NDAM that gave Juwara directives to write to withdraw NDAM from NAAD.

“With due respect to Juwara, he should go back to pen and paper and reframe his statement and refrain from using the party as scapegoat.

“There is no single active member of NDAM executive from the National Chairman down to the youth executive who took part in this decision-making to withdraw NDAM from NAAD,” Mr Manneh fumed.

He disclosed that he had consulted with the entire executive and none of them took part in this decision.

“One thing I want to say,” Manneh asserted, “is that if Juwara wants to retire from politics, he could have humbly and honorably quit and call it a day and if he wants to join the APRC also the decision is his. We would be more than happy to move on without him.

“What I personally think prompted Juwara to this decision is because of late he has been isolated too much by the party officials and myself after he perpetually took decisions, sometimes very sensitive ones on behalf of the party, without consultation.

“Secondly when he wanted to put himself up as a contender for the position of flag bearer of NADD, his decision was unanimously rejected by the secretariat, which I personally opposed vehemently at the NAAD executive meeting even before the withdrawal of UDP and NRP from NAAD.

“Also he is unable to give up a habit that does not go down well with all members of the elders committee. This, among other things, made Juwara lose popularity and trust among the party members, which resulted in his near-frustration. No wonder he decided to go and campaign for the APRC-sponsored candidate in Niamina.”

Mr Manneh further contended that there is no logic in saying that NDAM could withdraw from NAAD as “NAAD, though accidentally, happened to be a political party rather than a coalition after the ruling of the Supreme Court against four of our sitting members of parliament. Juwara is the one person on record to have decided that NDAM is dissolved. How come he just turned around to say that NDAM is out of NAAD?” he wondered aloud.

“NADD is here to stay. It would be a blessing that Juwara leaves because that would give room for us to start consultation with UDP and NRP to see how best to come together again.

My message to Gambians is let them not take Juwara any longer seriously because he is a traitor and an unreliable partner,” Mr Manneh admonished.
