His white robes and magical stick could still not make others believe that president is the true Muslim he projects himself. Here is what a Muslim website had on Gambia under Jammeh. He is called dictator, money monger, and fake Muslim. Gambia is seen as one Muslim country where prostitudes get licenced to sell their flesh in the name of promoting tourism.

I agree with Madiba. Most of the contents are borderline libelous. Prostitution is and has always been illegal in the Gambia. And where in the heck do they come up with that shariah nonsense? I know their is a KADI court system in the Gambia, but the English common law is the basis of the judicial system.

Who is writing this non sense?? 90% of what is written in that article is just point blank not true.

It is the mark of intelligence to entertain an idea without accepting it.

Madis,
you are quite right, but I feel Tamsir Comare is another Gambian with another opinion. I feel that the author if Gambian has gone far away from his culture. He is lost

Looking at this article closely, i have noticed that the writer has French background. He has direct translation from French into English. For Example, unlike English numeration, French use the comma(,) and not the point(.), hence 11,3 thousands of square kilometers. This figure would have been written 11.3. Another pointer to the French origin is the spelling of Jola, Dyola(sounds more French), Gambians don't say Fulbe, but Fula.

I think the author is not Gambian or a Gambian with deep Francophone background.

About the author background, I share a feeling that there is more French orientation. I suspect a Guinean background. (No prejudice)Does not reason or express like Senegalese. It is one of those things that we have to look at the picture others paint of us. Yes, some of the views are seriously infected with bugs. It is about Gambia; therefore we need looking at what others paint of us. A suitable suggestion is for someone to post a rejoinder to the publishers. If they are journalists worth the salt, they would open space to accomodate conflicting views.

Sorry Karamba but these people don't deserve a rejoinder. Most of the time the Johnny just come to Islam think they are more Muslim than anyone else. A site that is already full of hate and mis-information don't deserve a rejoinder. A rejoinder would lend them credibility which they don't deserve. Let them wallow darkness and ignorance.
