Should Gambians celebrate National independance on the 18th of febuary-when Jawara and other freedom fighters(as claimed) like P.S Njie,E.F Small,Garba Jahumpha,J.C Faye, ect secured Gambia sovereignty as a nation from Britain who then wanted to merge HER with the Independant Senegal, OR July 22nd when the then Lt.Yaya A.J.J Jammeh(Now Dr.Alhagie Yahya A.JJ.J.Jammeh) and other freedom fighters (as claimed) like Lt S.B.Sabally,Lt E.Singhateh,Lt.S.Hydara(Diseade) and latter Lt.Yankuba Touray seized power (as they claimed to have come)to liberate the Gambian people from rampant curruption and wide spread mismanagement of public funds from the then Jawara government?
God bless the beloved Gambia(with two independance days)

Sir it was on the 18th of february 1965 when a wonderful land of the Gambia witness the lowering of the union Jack for the last time and welcomed the rising of the beautiful RED,WHITE,BLUE and GREEM flag of the gambia. That date is so important in the history of the country that it cannot be replaced by any other date. Ulike 18/2/65, july 22 is also an important date but It is less important when compared to the former, since after jully 22, the country is still sitting in the shade of the RED,WHITE,BLUE and GREEN flag, hich is a great symbol for that date."To the Gambia ever true".

Ya Mi bro,
But do you realise that in the Gambia of today, childreen born from 1994 to date hardly know the significance of 18th fubruary.Gambia today celebrates July 22nd as the day of liberation rather than the day the Union Jack was lowered replaced by Red/White/Blue/White Green.
Looking at the Gambia until 2014,childreen born since July 22nd will all become adults. Are they going to uphold the 18th february Day or the day they knew since first year at school.
You and I know well that 2006 presidential election is just formalities 4 Jammeh is waiting 4 another coronation. So long as the greedy opositions remain devided,Jammeh is gaining strength opon strength. And I think we should start talking about what he has in mind 4 the country during the period 2006 to 2012 so as to post our ideas for a better Gambia.
Peace
