Hi
I am looking to fly to Gambia on 25th May for 2 weeks. Is the only flight the astreus one from Gatwick? I have been quoted nearly £500 for that! Does anyone know anything cheaper? I was hoping to pay about half that!!!!

| I always find that, if you leave it to the last few days to book, you will get a bargain, especially if there is only one person, theres always room for one |

| I have to travel that day, no flexibility. So I am scared to risk leaving it. |

I know Beverley. But there is a eurostar from London to Brussels. Approx 80 euros, traveltime 2.30 hrs. Uk is no longer an island LOL |

| Point taken, but I live in Yorkshire, an expensive train journey to london and then across london OR a 6 hour drive and the cost of petrol and parking. Nothing is easy or cheap! |

It always makes me mad to see how much dearer the air tickets are in the 'closed' season. All through the season (our winter) I've seen really cheap deals - so cheap in fact that it is cheaper to buy a package and not use the accomodation component.
Personally I prefer to visit out of season when my b/f and his friends are not so busy but the cost makes it very difficult.
The Gambia Experience has a lot to answer for - from where I'm sitting it is they who are responsible for the 'price fixing'.
Good luck - hope you manage to bag yourself a bargain. Have a really lovely time (is not jealous - well not much! Oh come on October - seems like a lifetime away *sigh*).
Oh and just a last minute thought - have you looked at the brocheur package prices for the hotels that remain open?
and does anyone know where I would stand if I wanted to donate the accomodation part of any package I bought to a Gambian? I reckon I could easily find someone who'd be greatful for the gesture. |

| So what are the other web sites of other tour operators for flights only other than rip off Gambia Experience. |

becareful if you donate the accommodation to a Gambian, security issues come into play, also insurance, you are insured but they are not. i am booking my holiday for this week may 4th, could go with travelppport but would mean going to amsterdam, or spanair mean going via spain. GAMBIA EXPERIENCE do have a lot to answer for, but sodoes the government for allowing it. |

See that you are making sure to watch the Liverpool v Chelsea match before treading Africa! I hope you will celebrating. I'll be couple of weeks behind you on the dusty road...... safe journey, sab. |
