My wife wants to travel from Australia via one of the following African cities to Banjul. I was wondering if there is direct flight to Banjul from these cities. Cities are;

Lagos, Accra, Abidjan, Nairobi, Hortoum

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.

i think there are direct flights with slok airlines, but whether you want to travel on some african airlines is another matter.

I wouldn't recommend Slok Air to my enemies; not that I have any! Your best bet would be to fly Kenya Airlines from Nairobi to Dakar, and travel by land to Banjul (or fly Air Senegal, which is part of the Royal Air Maroc group, to Banjul).

Thanks!

It depends on where you purchase your ticket. I flew Air Senegal a couple of times between Dakar and Banjul.

++ I paid about $300 (Canadian) last year for a return ticket - bought it in Montreal.

++ I paid about $100 (US) one-way two years ago - bought the ticket at Dakar Airport, and about D4000 one-way from Banjul to Dakar - bought it in Banjul (Air Senegal Office).

You may want to try the Air Senegal website...not sure whether you can book online though. Here goes...

Thanks!

Air Senegal round trip airticket Dakar-Banjul is currently about $300 and one-way is $152.00. I flew with them (three times) this past January and February 2007.

When opportunity and prepareness meet, it leads to success!

Great Phonecard rates and a lot more, at affordable prices, check it out at http://www.pjoof.com

Thanks for the comments. I have number of options to Dakar, Senegal than Banjul. But I was more interested if there are flights from Lagos, Nairobi, Accra, Hortoum to Banjul directly.

Thre are few dierct flights in west africa. You have to hop like a grasshopper. Direct flight to Banjul is almost impossible except for Air Senegal via Dakar.

Why not fly from Australia to London and then take a flight from London to Banjul. That is a faster route than through africa. It will take 2-3 days tring to make a connection to Banjul from most part of Africa especially from Kenya, or Sudan.

I have travelled that route a few times but its cheaper travelling from banjul to London and then Nairobi than through the African continent. In addition its faster.

Which ever way it sounds like a long and restless journey. Even thinking about it has made me feel ill!!! LOL!

I have travelled from uk to USA several times, but the 6 hours to Gambia from uk is just about my normal limit. I get VERY bored after about 4 hours and my autistic tendencies start to appear. I am always relieved that my feet touch the ground and I have survived......... but of course there is always the homeward journey to worry about!!!!

6 hours from UK to Gambia - are you kidding? It takes 9 hours from Stockholm! Or 12 hours when travelling with SN Brussels.
