Hi,
What is the situation with women's football in The Gambia? Is it any serious football? Do the people know the players of the national women's football team? Or is it just something on the side and not taken seriously?
I was just wondering this :)

It will be as serious as the spectator's attitude towards womens football.
I hope that the Gambian Womens team does well and that they will have consistent sponsors to allow them to play those who already participtate including Benin, Mali, Congo, Trinadad & Tobago, Zimbabwe, Senegal & Zambia. It will be encouraging to see The Gambia amongst this line up. If they had electricity long enough to watch a DVD, then I would take a copy out to them of Arsenal Womens team who at present are eight points ahead in the Premier League!

Yeah, I also wish the Gambian women's football team to get along internationally! :)
But do people watch the matches of women's football? Or do the know who play in the national team. Everybody seems quite aware who play's in the men's team, but how is it with the women's team?

Thanks for the welcome :) Greatly appreciated!
Actually I can name a few Dutch women football-player's (I'm from Holland myself). Although from other countries I can't name any either.
And I was wondering how populair it is in The Gambia as a friend of mine is playing in the national women's team, so that's why I was curious how the people in The Gambia look upon it :) |
