Samba Jameh Nyang is the great grandfather of my wife. He was the father of Bai Abdou Nyang, there is decendants of the said Samba Njameh Nyang in the UK. Infact the wife of Bamy Jagne in the us(Gambian ambassador) is also a decendant. Please send a mail to me and I can connect you to them(the Nyangs)you are looking for.
That is great. Family trees are really interesting. In GAmbia are all the people with the same surname linked in some way if you go back generations?
Can you tell 'tribes' and mirgation patterns from surnames? It really interests me.
My family surname is Toon and they came from a village called Thurmaston near Leicester for generations and I mean GENERATIONS! Not very adventurous genes!!!! They were there as far back as 1066! In Leicestershire there are loads of TOONS. But in the rest of the UK it is a rare surname. As far as I know there are no vary famous or very rich TOONS!
