Last week, news headlines in UK were dominated by the murder of Five (5) prostitutes in the locality of Ipswich, Suffolk, UK all in the course of 11 days. Forklift lorry driver 48 year Steven Wright was charged for all five murders on Friday.

By courtesy, this information is posted on Bantaba after an observation by Cornelius that it has not been mentioned. Thank you Cornelius for that good observation

Terrible acts.
Could we call them women who worked as prostitutes? Big arguments behind the scenes of the British news media over this. Many, many complaints and they ways in which the women were spoken about and described have been changed.

They were the daughters, mothers, girls, ladies, - Paula, Annette, Anneli, Gemma, Tania – Rest in perfect peace.

Yes Sab, they were human first and prostitute second. Noone likes to be defined purely by their work. Let's treat them with humanity.

Personally, I pay tribute to the ladies bravery working in danger and leading a lonely wretched existence.
If I remember correctly you are off soon, safe journey and best wishes for the coming year. I should have been there already, but had to cancel, things are looking brighter now and I will follow your footsteps soon.
regards, sab.

Indeed, they first became human and by changing fortune they became known as prostitutes. That was the way British media placed on their dead flesh at the time of reporting. For parents of some of the named victims, they had no idea their loved ones got hooked to drugs and eventually resorted to trade on their flesh to feed the drug habit.

Yes sab. I travel on Saturday, then on Sunday go to Pirang for Tobaski. I am going to visit Brufut and I am planning on spending an evening at footsteps ecolodge. I am not going up country this visit. I need some rest and relaxation. I will go back to go to Tendaba etc in the spring if finances and work permit. I am going to visit a nursery in Serekunda this time for the first time. I am looking forward to seeing my little girl in Pirang again.

On the plane I get so restless and impatient, I just want to get there to be with my friends. I need some 'Gambia time' after xmas in UK!!!

Bev, enjoy yourself! I am a little bit jealous, to tell you the truth! My partner is leaving this Friday to be with his family in Jattaba, no money for 2 tickets this year!
