Now that I'm ready with the response that I promised, I notice that Admin deleted an entire thread which I started entitled "Response to come later" - which contained some valuable explantion from Gambiebev and some other contributions from me and diverse others, all of which are of invaluable interest to a researcher from the point of view of froup psychology, cross-cultural relations etc
Why did you do that? It contained a lot of interesting material.
Do you now promise that you won't delete my response no matter how beautiful it is? Or does you best friend think she owes me an apology for her misunderstanding? I don't think that I am either a midget or a minion or an uncle tom you know!
Leaving out the prayers, ( which naturally should be on top, here is what I said:
Koro Sallah one of the founders of MOJA ( Movement for Justice in Africa) is a good friend and once taught me that there’s nothing gained by a hasty response to a diabolical insult and the African way is to first sit down , analyze and then react. I have thought about this overnight and there’s nothing impulsive or even hostile about what I have handwritten and will be forwarding shortly – I want to get it over and done with before Shabbat, as a measured response and corrective and I pray that there will be no mistakes in it.
I am certainly entitled to what I have: a right to respond in the most fitting manner to the uncivil.
At the same time, it is addressed to all of Bantaba in Cyberspace, including the regular and occasional visitors, especially those who are or may be interested in that theme that I am about to get down on, namely the subject of THE RELEVANCE OF MARCUS GARVEY TODAY, a subject which, after the SHEMA and all its deeper implication for Jew and proselyte, is for me the next most important subject that has yet arisen on Banataba in Cyberspace.
Since everyone on this Forum has the right and privilege to challenge anyone else to reveal his or her direction, I confer upon myself that freedom just as I listen to the Shofar on the High Holidays – and to make what is not clear absolutely clear to Bantaba’s resident German spokeslady – for writing thus to me: and in my reply,( be patient) I will surely put her in her place, to prevent her ( if it is indeed a she) from messing with the wrong person, in the future, whether in Bantaba or out of Bantaba, because you know my first second and third name: Cornelius Edward Hamelberg ( and I live in Stockholm) there’s nothing fake about me what I have said, what I am saying now and what by the power of God, I am going to say. Because unwarranted arrogance and deceit has no place in the Banataba at which we meet, no matter who believes it’s ok for anyone to write the following to me:

I’d also like to add this little note that ours is a people culture. And as an African I am a social and sociable person (ask anyone who knows me). It is God who gives life which He has created and it is God who has provided the landscape ( even in cyberspace) and the people context in which we live and relate, so like a true Banyu who believes in the philosophy of Bantu ( and Jahn’s “Muntu") too, i.e. it’s not so much that you say “I am” it’s more of others saying you are/ she/ he is, and so living with people, and having lived with people I talk about people without self consciousness – that’s part of Socialism, people power if I say WOLE SOYINKA . I mean Wole SOYINKA – if I say Ngugi Wa Thiongo, that’s the man – or Professor Eldred Jones, or Glanville, Kenner, Dr. Eric Williams, Albert Van Dantzig, Rudy and Thelma Silas, Joe Seward, Art Blakely, Cat Stevens, George Crowell, Roberta Turner, Cyprian Lamar Rowe, Professor Jack B. Moore, John Collins, Walter Rodney or a Chief Rabbi. Or Mustapha Tettey Addy and our friends in common his cousin Tommy Annan – Dollar and Attah ( Fra -Fra good Samaritans from Bolgatanga who took care of me and gave me food my last months in Ghana, or Major Jumu or many other Ghanaians, Nigerians Israelis, Germans, British citizens Bagians, Jamaicans. South Africans, Congolese, Angolans Namibians, St. Lucians, Gambians, Senegalese, Kenyans, Egyptians, etc relatives, friends, influences. Hundreds of persons whose names I have neither dropped nor raised. You notice that I have not mentioned a single Swede? Do I know anyone in Sierra Leone? Nigerai? GHana? Yes I do, some are now asleep with the ancestors….. I don’t want to humiliate anyone - it’s against the faith that’s in my heart…….
But do grant permission to respond and promise not to delete it because I assure you that we will all, keep on laughing for some time to come.
It’s a story….

I tried to edit this topic which I posted at 09:19:38 just ten minutes ago and got the message that it cannot be edited after two hours. The time is now 10.52 less than two hours ago.
What's happening?

A goodly/timely response was expected from the admin as to why an attempt to edit within the specified time limit of two hours is greeted with a message that the two-hour limit is over, WHEN IT'S NOT!

As for my response, I’m tidying up the descriptive element in the narrative and perfecting the dialogue with the useless desert serpent.
Since some do not recognise the art of satire, it had better be copyrighted and will not face annihilation by accidental demonic deletion in the service of someone else’s pro-tection….like the burning down of the Library at Alexandria – the propaganda is that some guys thought when told it’s a library (and there were books in it ) “well, we don’t need any more books, we’ve got the Qur’an !” and so they burned it down!

And that fake name drop – Peter Weiss’ wife ( Gunilla Palmstierna ) told his son who told my wife about Cornelius’ appearance in one of his published memoirs – on the occasion of the funeral of Hugh Satterfield ( Professor Lobo) who had been presenting Jazz programs on Radio Free Europe , from Berlin……I eventually read the episode, with my own eyes……and so could YOU.
I was indeed with the son after the Sabbath service about three weeks ago, up in his flat , understand? And his name is Michael……a frequent visitor to Germany – he is a scenographer and I know him and his family VERY well the past 30-something years ……..OK?
Incidentally I got a call form my German(half) most senior sister-in-law,Ilse's son, on Thursday night......he's in Sweden.....in case you want to confirm anything.
One of may main Jewish mentors Schalom tells me about “ giving oxygen to the dead” that is keeping their memory alive by talking about them. And I think it’s a good idea, for people may be away or asleep with the ancestors , and out of sight, but NOT out of heart or mind.

Al is honest to himself and consistent – that’s what I like about him. Some day I hope to meet him. May be I’ll recognise him and we can have a cup of tea ……together....
