Thank you all SO MUCH for all the helpful info. You have all been very kind and patient w/me! I really did not know most of what you taught me about what a Gambian mother would want. And, I did not want to offend her. The father is Gambian also. He is a wonderful man that we have known for many years. We love them both. I am grateful to know about the naming ceremony. Maybe we can do something w/them in that area? This will be their 1st child! Please accept my apologies for any offense I caused any of you. I appreciate your help.
No offense. But its time we set records right. I was explaining that it was not Gambian culture and some went beserk. Sorry, i dont sugar coat. You asked what you should do and i said it wasnt Gambian culture and therefore offered no Gambian solution. Its that simple. None of the 9 tribes in the Gambia practice this.
