NOT MUCH GOOD : _________________ Not much good That monster has devored her offsprings And this is no post-partum depression The strong men of the continent With hands soaked in blood Shoot , kill , and loot All I see is naked power No great leader A primordial soup that begotten not Politicians and them blossom by the impure Not much good In the grip of Morpheus I saw a shooting star out of orbit And why shall man rest Until the sun awash the creepy night It might be true Africa was great The cradle of civilization That Adam was African But while I sit in my house of exile All I see is the stench Dependency and pestilence Yet the Leviathan lives off our nightly slumber And my people scrape the earth Barely the crust Not much good The self-centered politician Strangled the economy The leutenant set us ablazed Mine like Soyinka's a waste When I look home-ward All I see is a smoking gun spiralling Amidst the guffaw of the retired colonel Not much good Looking Afrca-ward I see a continental suicide The erosion of pre-cambrian rocks By great rivers of her blood Marx this government hasn't withered Not even transferrable.

Dalton1:
I know you have a love for poetry , so do I. Poetry is very natural for me , and it enable me express complex ideas that are otherwise hard to express in prose . This poem paints a gloomy picture of Gambia and our continent. While it may be hard to agree with the substance the literalyy devices such as alliterations , strong metaphors ,and references to Nigeria's dissident nobel laureate Wole Soyinka and the philosopher at large Marx might make the poem exciting to read. Thanks for all your compliments. |

| This is a deep poem, had to read three times, each time you get something different. |

yes Jambo. it reminds me of another poem authored by Jambang, "the lethal redeemer". a friend of mine read it, and couldn't tell what the guy was talking about.
Kay, keep it flowing. it reminds me of Galleh's activism, where he hides behind the pen to deal with Jammeh, FJC, and their entire team. But yes. i love poetry. great old way of activism. |

"In the grip of Morpheus I saw a shooting star out of orbit And why shall man rest Until the sun awash the creepy night"
This was a tickle. Honestly a poem to wonder about.

| Good caption there Dalton 1 . Strong imagery ! Poetry is "precision-guided language". Tons of ideas are loaded on very few words , all of which are up for interpretation somehow. |

Kay,
you get me on that stanza. Instead, it is not even a "tickle", but rather "tears". Keep it up! |
