Although we in Africa know of military coups,we are also witnessing a parliamentary coup in the United kingdom today.Tony Blair being forced out of office by his own PMS.8 Junior Government PMS resigning and urging their leader to dothe same.WAAU!

I like Tony Blair and his Labor party , but Blair is a very previledged prime minister . Is he in his third term now ? Certainly many are unhappy with his (and Bush's ) handling of the war in Iraq.
But perhaps the key difference between military coups and a perliamentary coup as seen in U.K. presently is that the former is an UNDEMOCRATIC use of FORCE with weaponry to remove a government , while the latter is a DEMOCRATIC means that utilizes the CHECKS and BALANCES in government.This is a legislative action against the executive branch.Quiet unumaginable in the Gambia , isn't it ?
