HIT AND RUN DRIVER ESCAPES

Reliable sources have indicated that on the 8th of August 2006, a driver knocked down a school boy on the highway around the Abuko Nature Reserve, and left the body lying on the road. Sources indicated that the incident happened during the rains on that day. Some people close to the Nature Reserve found the body lying on the middle of the road. According to people who found the body, they contacted the Brikama Police Station to check the Vehicles that are coming from Serrekunda. According to an eye witness, while they were brainstorming on how to evaquate the body, another Vehicle came from Lamin, with a Police Officer on board, who took the body to hospital. According to the source, many people believed that the boy was dead.
