3 charged with rape

Ousman Jammeh and Ebrima Jammeh were on Tuesday arraigned before Senior Magistrate Moses Richards of Bundung on charges of having unlawful carnal knowledge with a 10 -year-old girl (name withheld), contrary to section 127 of the Criminal Codes, Laws of The Gambia.
According to the particulars of their offense, both Ebrima Jammeh and Ousman Jammeh on 11 July 2006, at Manjai Kunda, in the KSMD, unlawfully had carnal knowledge with a ten-year-old girl.
When the chargesheet was read to them, both men pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them. Magistrate Richards then remanded them in custody and adjourned the case to August 21 for further hearing.
However, one Momodou Salieu Barry, was also arraigned before Senior Magistrate Moses Richards of the Bundung Court, on charges of attempted rape, contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.
According to the particulars of the case, Momodou Salieu Barry, on the 6th of July, at Latrikunda Sabiji, allegedly attempted to rape a girl (name withheld), under the age of fourteen years old.
The accused Momodou, Salieu Barry pleaded not guilty to the charges preffered against him. Senior magistrate Moses Richards then remanded Mr Barry and adjourned the case to 14th August, 2006.

If found guilty what will happen to them? Will they be imprisioned or will it be somthing worse?

Imprisoned is the least i would expect,  for as long as possible. i would hope their pictures were put on the tv, and newspapers. |

I am surprised that their full names are written in the newspapers; this is illegal in Germany until the accused is found guilty. Even our tabloids respect this law.
But if they are found guilty, I hope they will rot in prison for long years. |

| No in england it would be the same, if they are in court and a child is involved. |
