Kon,

If the Gambia wants to be or become a democracy then it's your plight to vote.

Or you vote if favour of the ruling president, and thats your right. Or you want to vote him away. And sure, I to expect fraude . But if 90 % of the gambians vote against Jammeh then the fraude must be extreme and then I wonder if the Gambians in the first place and the international community in the secund place will accept that.

If the majority wants to get rid of Jammeh, its certainely no help to sit aside and doing nothing.

ci jamaa

All democratic countries allow their expatriates to vote. And I am quite sure that all Gambians living abroad can produce a legitimate document verifying their citizenship to ambassadors to cast their vote. But Dictator Jammeh, as all dictators do, wouldn’t contemplate giving Gambian that basic right. All Gambian citizens living abroad have been denied by Dictator Jammeh to vote, whilst non Gambians can stroll freely to a voting center and vote. All Gambians living abroad should have the right to vote. Even Iraq gives it expatriates/refugees their voting rights. Why not Gambia? yeh,rah

Did he really say this? I can't believe it. If the incumbent declared openly and brazenly that he would fake the results - why should any citizen waste one second of his/her precious time on voting? The normal reaction would be to drag such a man to courts, as what he says is 100% against the constitution.

ELECTIONS ARE WON AND LOST THROUGH CONTROLLING THE VOTER REGISTRATION PROCESS AND NOT MERELY ACCESS TO MEDIA OR FREEDOM TO CAMPAIGN. ELECTIONS IN AFRICA IS WON LONG BEFORE THE CAMPAIGNS. I HAVE SAID IT OVER AND OVER BUT TIME HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON MY SIDE.

90,000 GAMBIANS HAVE BEEN REGISTERED DURING THE AU SUMMIT. WHERE DID THEY COME FROM? MAY BE HEAVENS OR THE JINNS. IS IEC SAYING THAT 90,000 GAMBIANS HAVE MATURED SINCE THE LAST BYE ELECTIONS IN AUGUST 2005 TO BE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE. THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE. WHERE DID WE HAVE 90,000 FROM.

MAY BE IT IS THE DARWIN THEORY OF EVOLUTION BEING MANIFESTED IN OUR COUNTRY WHERE ALL OF A SUDDEN, THROUGH SOME NATURAL PROCESS, 90,000 MONKEYS HAVE DEVELOPED INTO HUMANS AND WALKED TO THE REGISTRATION CENTERS DEMANDING THEIR RIGHTS NOW THAT THEY HAVE METAMORPHORSED TO THE MOST ADVANCED STAGE OF HUMAN DEVELOPMENT.

Oh yes, miracles can happen... Don't forget the man is a powerful magician. He can make magic water, he can make people disappear - maybe he can even make 100 voters out of only one?

But honestly: Did Jammeh really say what jambo mentioned? My rational mind refuses to believe this.

HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN, AND HOW CAN IT HAPPEN THAT NOBODY DOES ANYTHING ABOUT IT? Okay, the results of the last two US elections are very questionable, and many others too. I don't believe in this miraculous series of almost 50/50% elections in Germany, USA, Italy... But I never heard about a president announcing the results before the election took place. What is the UN doing? Are we living in the biggest open psychiatry ever known?
