INCREASES TRANSPORT FARES

The Gambia National Transport Control Association, (GNTCA) has issued a new tariff announcing the increase of fares of commercial passenger vehicles throughout the country with effect from Thursday, 11th of July 2013. Confirming the new tariff to this reporter at his office in Banjul, yesterday, 4 July, Mr. Sheriff Dibba, Secretary General of GNTCA, said the proposal to increase the fares was approved by the Task Force set up by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment. He said the revised tariff is prompted by the recent increases in the prices of petrol and diesel.
