BornAfrican: Yes Bigchiefin. What's wrong with me? I am a very open minded fella. I spew out even my subconcious thoughts. I was always thought to criticize, but constructively. I believe that there is something wrong with NADD's structures and it has to be pointed out. Someone has to talk about it. You and i know that even a fissure in NADD's structure will cost us dearly at this moment. One man can't proof to be an obstacle. I might have been very angry when writing about Darboe being a traitor. My choice of words may be uncalled for but i still stand by my idea of what i think he is.
BigChiefin: I am 24 and have been abroad for the past 10yrs, which definitely makes me a novice on Gambian politics. The only reason I mentioned my goegraphical status is to show you my meager knowledge of gambian politics but it doesnt mean that am totally unaware of whats happening.
BornAfrican: Wow, wot a young guy but at a very critical age. I am 25 and i first left the Gambia in 1997. I do visit there frequently. I have been involved in a lot of things in the Gambia. I have worked with the US Peace Corps and the VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) from the UK. All these were during my visits to the Gambia. They were projects i wasn't paid a dime for. You see, like yourself, i love the Gambia so much. Infact Romeo and Juliet's relationship cannot equal my romance with the Gambia at the moment. I want to be aware of everything happening out there. I will speak out about anyone whom i think wants to soil our soup. After all, is that not the core of democracy? i mean the freedom of expression.
BigChiefin I read news on Gambian affairs on a regular basis and understands the country's dire need for changes within the political arena.
BornAfrican: You read the news Mr. I just came back from there three months back. Sometimes what you read either understates or overstates the reality on the ground. Unfortunately, most of the things on this site and many more even understate that reality. The Gambia is bleeding and her heart is pumping blood in her veins so fast.I mean people are very dynamic. Our thoughts are getting more advanced than the infrastructure. This shows that most people know what they are missing and the state can't keep surpressing these people. At some point, they will turned back at the state and this we define as "civil conflict". Something has to be done quick or else we will bleed to death. Darboe knows that. Why try to bring confusion at this crucial time. There is no time for such. Africa always has leadership problems. I know Darboe wants to lead, but at this time, he should put our intrest before his. Infact it is for the intrest of the Gambians that he wants to lead. For that same reason, let him hold his horses, and let us go thru this raggedy era and come out victorious.
BigChiefin: Darbo as a beligerant politician stood up against the APRC in two consecutive elections just to help safe us from the ills of Jammeh. Society cannot remain stangnant and people cannot likewise. darbo might change his political strategy but that doesn't make him a traitor. He is a hero and should be praised for exposing the APRC on numerous occasions. Excuse my vernacular "Don't hate the player, hate the game."
BornAfrican: He stood against Jammeh twice but he still can't bring him down. Here is a new political strategy. He knows its the right move. He helped build it and wants to destroy it. NADD has given me so much hope. I refuse to let one man destroy it on my watch. I never agree that saying: "hate the game and not the player". sometimes the player contorts the rules of the game for the outcome to suit his desires. In such circumstances, i will do justice to the game and not hate it. It is the player that messed up with the rules that has to be hated.
BigChiefin: I do not wish to offend you or anybody that shares the same views as you. I've been checking this site for a while but never subscribed to it until lately, but bornafrican, please dont feel too emotional.
BornAfrican: No Mr. i know you are too smart to go on offending people on a forum like this. We all agree to disagree here at this Bantaba. We are all emotional in our own ways. I understand that some people will not agree with me. They too have their sense of reasoning since they are rational beings. This constitutes to the freedom that exists here at the Bantaba. I like to incite people's thoughts sometimes. This does not mean i write things not worth their weight in gold. I believe whatever i write is well thought of before i put it out here for everyone to read.
BigChiefin try to destroy that cankerworm inhibited in you and have a better view on Gambia's political landscape. Please watch your language because this site is viewed by people of different demographies. We need the likes of Dabo and sallah. i would appreciate your understanding.
BornAfrican: Ain't no cankerworm in me to destroy. I am just one free individual living in a free world. Just like i say, i think about it before i write it. I will always stand by it. With time, my opinions about what i write may change but that does not mean i regret what i write. Don't worry Bigchiefin, next time i won't use abusive words, i promise. Just like i said, we all get emotional in our own ways. Sorry about those words(and not the idea), if i offend you or anyone who read the article: "Darboe is a Traitor". [/quote]
