Senegambia. What do you mean that "There is hardly any Independence left to celebrate anyway"
IRRESPECTIVE OF GAMBIA BEING A FAILED STATE, OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY IS A SOLEMN OCCASION TO COMMEMORATE OR MARK AN HISTORICAL EVENT/DAY CELEBRATED LIKE ANY OTHER SOVEREIGN STATE; AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DAY FOR POMP & PAGEANTRY, TAKES CARE OF BUSINESS OR OFFICIAL FUNCTIONS WITH CEREMONIES OR FESTIVITIES NATIONWIDE
Please elaborate why and share with us your thoughts |

Kobo, you know exactly what I mean. You just want me to say more. Independence is a condition. As a nation, we either keep it or we lose it!
How do we keep it? I believe that the strength or weakness of the Independence of a nation is directly proportional to the sovereignty of that nation (both internal and external). I.e, the stronger the sovereinty, the more present the independence of that nation.
Remember Independence for dictators means I can do what ever I want to do and nothing will come out of it. Sovereignty they think means all critics stay out of our country's business, its got nothing to do with you. They ignore the internal aspect of the dynamics of that beautiful and meanigful expression.
Etc etc etc. Wish I had more time to discuss this...

Senegambia. Thanks for giving us more on your thoughts; which interestingly resonate with circularised on-line Gambia media article Independence? What Independence? By Dr. Baba Galleh Jallow and forwarded from Maafanta.com. Your comments were short but served us a tasty dessert and informative
