I don't think they declare war. They just make war.

BTW: Does ANYBODY there still know what all their wars, bombings, terroristic acts, etc. p.p. are about? This madness is going on now for decades; sorry if I am getting cynical and regard it as some kind of macabre Near Eastern traditions... But at the moment it can be very dangerous to us all.

Land and ownership, religion. superiority. It started just after the end 2nd world war, If you look at the movement of the people. when people started moving from germany. Uptil then people lived side by side.
European countries created this borders. One group is returning to the ancestral home, and another group is fighting to stay on their homelands. that is the basis of the dispute, everything else just got added on. a large population are from other parts of the world who have returned "home" and claim that they have a "God" given right ot be there, but the other groups claim rights as well.

I 'm not sure they lived peacefully side by side. There was a time of intense Zionist terrorism in the 30ies and 40ies, before the foundation of Israel.

But the present beginning war could be part of a bigger strategic plan, with Israel preparing the ground or providing an excuse for NATO to attack Iran, as Iran supports Hamas and Hisbollah. I mean, with people like Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld, any idiocy is possible, though it now looks as if the Hisbollah militia made the first move. Bush is now on a visit to Germany (very cold reception by the German people); I'll eat my hat if he isn't discussing a German participation in a possible war against Iran with his darling Angela Merkel...

The fact of the matter is that Hezbollah is NOT the GOVERNMENT OF LEBANON. So why do they arrogate to themselves the right to act as the Government of Lebanon and drag the country into an unnecessary war? Is this war HELPING the Palestinian or Lebanese people?
In the long run and in the final analysis, it will only clip their wings.
It is Hezbollah who entered sovereign Israeli territory where without any provocation - they killed - eight Israeli soldiers and kidnapped tow others - right after Gilad Shalit had been kidnapped and is now hopefully alive or possibly not alive in Gaza.

In other words it is Hezbollah and not Israel who declared war.

Here is some more news about what's actually happening:

at some point you may wish to consider the FACT that Israel has on several occassion occupied Lebanon for 20yrs and other sovereign nations. it has pushed in Army in refugee camps which itself is illegal under international law.

you think this is the first time rockets have been fired into Israel? perhaps the Syrian presence in Lebanon was a deterrent afterall.

in the final analysis it is Israel who will loose with greater insecurity.

That is still not a good reason for Israel to attack Lebanon! Like you said, Hizbollah is not the government of lebanon and Israel wants to wipe Hizbollah out of the face of earth -not Lebanon and it´s people right?
Maybe Israels big brother USA should tell little bro to calm down and use some sense now...

Isreal never does wrong!
Though I strongly disapprove of THE MILITIA seizing two Isreal soldiers,I belief the world should also talk to Isreal to stop the bombing of innocent civilians.Since they started their strikes, how many Hezbullah militants have they killed?Only innocent citizens women and childreen are dying day and night.

I wonder if these people value human lives.Isreal/Hezbullah/Hamas or any who sopports these groups to kill innocent people are all terrorists.

I cannot watch these killings its barbaric and inhuman.Men/women with hearts pilling bombs to kill, just to killwith out thinking what would happen if they are the victims.

peace

Hisbollah, Herbollah - Cornelius, I really don't care anymore who started. In this endless series of war and murder no one ia able to find the one who is initially guilty.

I can well imagine how terrible it must be for the normal Israeli citizen to live in a land where every man in the streets may carry a bomb. I doubt if one can call this living. But it is also true that Israel is very rude and tends to overreactions. I think the political/religious leaders in Israel forgot their own principle 'An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth', which originally meant that if you take revenge, don't overdo it.

A Israeli friend of mine who grew up in Germany and returned to Israel for a couple of years went back to Europe because he couldn't stand the madness from both sides any more. I fully understand him.

Here is the current Israeli position in the very moving words of the Prime Minister of Israel Ehud Olmert's address to the Knesset which was also broadcast live on BBC and CNN:

I think highly of the president of the Gambia, Yaya Jammeh – just as I admire Jerry Rawlings. One is an ex- soldier and currently commander-in-chief of the Gambian military forces. Both are brave men and neither of them is a hypocrite. Both have shown that they are capable leaders.

I was touched by Yaya Jammeh’s contribution to the cause of the brothers and sisters who were the victims of hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. He contributed was it $15,0000r $ 25,000. It was a great gesture which made me proud. It was a symbolic gesture which went all the way home to the heart. It was the widow’ mite but it counted a lot on the scales of international African brotherhood.

Most other presidents can sing ”African Unity” all day long, but are too busy begging and too poor ( although not personally) to put their money where their mouth is.
When I read that news item , I bookmarked it under the heading “A good example of right African leadership”. International African setting a good example. What is the difference ( in consciousness) between the president of the Gambia and many other presidents? Perhaps it is an essential difference between Gambians in general and other West Africans, and when I scratch my head for an answer what springs to mind is the possible effect of Alex Haley’s ” Roots” on the consciousness of the Gambian people from whom the author originated a long time ago and this consciousness it was that dictated the fulfilment of a friend/ brother in need is a friend/ brother indeed. A good Jola brotha!

Some of the hypocrites would order that I be banned from any forum that allows me to say what I say about the oldest Syrian-Lebanese community in Africa South of the Sahara – the Shia community in Sierra Leone from whom there has been the occasional fundraising from Hezbollah.

Now it so happens that some of their best friends from among those in authority even probably get their own reasonable cut, as they do in most things, and do not want that to be mentioned, as if it is a secret or as if they have entered some secret holy pact.

Whereas when President Jammeh invites Ahmadinejad to the AU in Banjul, he is not one to cringe and hide and shake in fear- like an unbeliever - that his boss of bosses won’t like it. Like a real man he says, just as Malcolm X speaking in Harlem said in a tape I got from Al a Gambian brother : “No one will tell us who to invite and who not to invite,” he maintained.
But in Sierra Leone, if some Guinean soldiers who are presently occupying Yenga, were to shoot eight of our soldiers dead and kidnap two of them etc, the commander-in-chief will probably tell the populace not to talk about it as it could jeopardise “the negotiations”

But let’s look at Ehud Olmert the Mayor of Jerusalem turned prime minister who is doing a great job – a job that some say general Sharon himself would have cheered at the time he was Arik and popularly known as “the bulldozer”

Ehud Olmert:
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=PCTA,PCTA:2006-28,PCTA:en&q=Ehud+Olmert

When I first read your comment, I was extremely distressed. Somewhere in my sub-conscious I thought that it was coming on an inauspicious day from our brother Jambo and that it was his 666th posting…..
But it is from Babylon – a word pregnant with meaning for someone like Ehud Olmert who is a very capable man and a resolute leader as he is demonstrating in these very difficult circumstances although the Babylon in question here is an angry twenty-nine old young lady of 29 , who lives in Sweden. But that doesn’t make either her or the prime minister of Israel “one stupid MF”, pathetic as that sort of talk can be.
