Pathetic speech. Ehud Olmert seems like one stupid MF.

When I first read your comment, I was extremely distressed. Somewhere in my sub-conscious I thought that it was coming on an inauspicious day from our brother Jambo and that it was his 666th posting…..
But it is from Babylon – a word pregnant with meaning for someone like Ehud Olmert who is a very capable man and a resolute leader as he is demonstrating in these very difficult circumstances although the Babylon in question here is an angry twenty-nine old young lady of 29 , who lives in Sweden. But that doesn’t make either her or the prime minister of Israel “one stupid MF”, pathetic as that sort of talk can be.

Hey man, don´t be distressed cause I was expressing my honest opinion about Ehud Olmert. And I´m probably not the only one in the world right now who thinks he´s wack. You think he is great, fine! But don´t get mad if everyone else don´t share your opinion. I think the man should retire and go rest his old head at some mental healthcare centre.
Who hired him for the job anyway, his cousin? Dad?

Hell yeah, I´m angry! I just watched the news and saw dead children in Lebanon. Innocent people who have nothing to do with politics. Where is the sense in this war?

"I now make it my earnest prayer, that God would have you,

that he would incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a
spirit of subordination and obedience to Government, to entertain
a brotherly affection and love for one another, for their fellow
Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their
brethren who have served in the Field, and finally, that he would
most graciously be pleased to dispose us all, to do Justice, to
love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility
and pacific temper of mind, which were the Characteristics of
the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without an humble
imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to
be a happy Nation. "

-- George Washington (circular letter of farewell to the Army,
8 June 1783)

Hezbollah declared war on Israel. We understand that Hezbollah means " Party of Allah" So I ask myself "In WHOSE NAME did they declare war?"
Did they declare war in the name of Hezbollah? Lebanon? Iran?
The missiles are still raining down on the civilian population of Northern Israel, on Galilee and killing people.

Why don’t you and the prime minister of Lebanon tell them to stop or has Sheikh Nasrallah become the commander-in-chief of the Lebanese forces?

When he steps into the ring to meat the heavyweight champion of the Middle East ( even with a little help from your friends) he will either stand up and fight like a man , or run with tail between his legs - and fear could be a good excuse.

There is prayer which begins, “ The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Almighty”

After war it's usually peace. It's usually not the victor that dictates the terms of that peace.
The sad fact is that war is not a game of chess in the Middle East that after a war we put the pieces back in place to start the next round.

Chess? I wonder if they discuss such things here?

I agree with you.
War is not a bed of roses.
Look at what’s happening and has been happening in Iraq on a daily basis. Who is killing who? What's the body count?
How many people died in Lebanon's civil war?
Who killed them ?

I was with the Iranians since I met the Shia who it was that had organised a demonstration when Thatcher and Bush Bombed Tripoli and other cities in April 1986. I had a pen friend in Tehran who cried about her brother being in the army and I prayed for the safety of young kids being given a key to paradise to walk minefields ( but that was some evil propaganda from Iraq)She wrote about parties and fashion and leather clothes and so on until Saddam started dropping a few bombs behind Dr. Behesti Avenue in Tehran, where she lived.
Have you listened to Leon Thomas singing “ Shape your mind to die” ?
He sings :
“This world is hell my friend as men make it.
To win is of superior wit to fail is thus to feel.”
Be ever ready to defend –
Or shape your mind to die.” Etc

But I’m sure that you prefer the way that Leon Thomas sings this:

There was a time, when peace was on the earth,
And joy and happiness did reign and each man knew his worth.
In my heart how I yearn for that spirit's return
And I cry, as time flies,
Om, Om.
There is a place where love forever shines
And rainbows are the shadows of a presence so divine
And the glow of that love lights the heavens above
And it's free, can't you see, come with me,
The creator has a master plan,
peace and happiness for every man
The creator has a working plan,
peace and happiness for every man
The creator makes but one demand,
happiness through all the land
(music and lyrics copyright 1968 by Pharoah Sanders and Leon Thomas)

lemontime yo are right, lebanon deserves better it was building itself up nicely, look at the numbers of foreigners that are now leaving, 20,000+ british people, at leas 40% were holidaymakers, the french love beirut, canada, australians. The country was enjoying economical, political and religious stability. It is the minority christian element that is looking after the lebanese who have fled to the mountains. people lived side by side. they definately deserved better than this. From the time Hizbelloh was voted in the peaceful days of lebanon were numbered. thats a fact.
