Kobo, cut the crap. Kibaaro publishes materials that have been sent to it. If Mr Samateh decided to send his material to a platform that did not publish the first piece in the first place, how can kibaaro publish his reaction? Let him follow media protocol and sent his material to the media platform the discussion started. He is free to empty his chest, Kobs, I careless, because I know Saikou is living in the past, and his ideas are bankcrupt just like his bedfellows. So go away. If want me to take you seriously, stop hiding. This is a serious national dialogue, you have been hiding for far too long. |

I AM 100% SURE THAT A MATE FORWARDED IT IN MY PRESENCE THROUGH MUSA SAIDYKHAN AND WAITED TOO LONG FOR PUBLICATION. PLEASE CHECK AND CONFIRM THE EMAIL AT THIS CONTACT musas@att.net, news@kibaaro.com
Kobs, I careless, because I know Saikou is living in the past, and his ideas are bankcrupt just like his bedfellows. So go away. If want me to take you seriously, stop hiding. This is a serious national dialogue, you have been hiding for far too long.
STOP KIDDING, CUNNING, DECEPTIVE AND DISINGENUOUS AS YOUR AGENDA, APPROACH ON ADDRESSING NATIONAL ISSUES, VILE SLANDERS, SMEARING CAMPAIGN, MESSAGE AND HOSTILE STYLE OF COMMUNICATION IS NOT 'DIALOGUE' OR POSITIVE CONTRIBUTION ON "NATIONAL DIALOGUE" BUT A POLITICAL VENDETTA AND DIS-SERVICE TO NATION
What made you belief that your TOXIC concoction, frivolous suggestions and disinformation on your article are better than those 'ideas' from 'Saikou' in reaction to them which you consider 'bankrupt'? YOUR THOUGHT PROCESS REFLECTS A PSYCHE BE-FITTING MOST INTELLIGENT GAMBIAN, A SELF-RIGHTEOUS, SELF-AGGRANDIZEMENT AND INFALLIBLE PERSON
Saiks Samateh's reactions are more mature and sensible than your 'poor' arrogant ideas, character assassinations, hate campaign, hostile propaganda and bigotry chronicles peddled on-line regularly by detractors and spin masters (especially you); in my opinion. A FUTILE EXERCISE, COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE, THWARTING OPPOSITION CHANCES FOR REGIME CHANGE, ANY EFFORTS IN MOBILISING OPPOSITION FRONT IN SPIRIT OF RECONCILIATION, NATIONAL UNITY, SOLIDARITY AND COMMON PLATFORM; PLAYING THE HAND OF DICTATOR AND ONLY HELPING TO PROLONG HIS RULE
Please re-visit these 'NOTES', do justice to yourself on remarkable salient points, try to benefit from it and then move on? With courtesy of Saiks Samateh's SENSIBLE NOTES AND CONCLUSIONS QUOTED BELOW; quote: "I read with great patience the critic of the Gambian left by Sountu Touray and I was not impressed. It was not a good work done and for a Gambian to make such a serious error on the modern history of the Political Left in the Gambia, when most of the actors are still alive, leaves us with a little room to doubt if this was a serious critic or not. I can forgive Arnold Hudghes ,to some extent, for marking the errors he made in some of his narratives, but for someone who aspire for an office of higher authority in the country must not leave us with any doubts that he can handle the affairs of our nation without any prejudice." "Dress code of Halifa and Sedia Jatta are so much an insignificant factor ,to bring it in a political discussion seems to be beyond me and to even attribute that to Marxist thinking is not at all serious, I know some members of PDOIS who do not dress that way, if they choose to dress so modestly does that not raise the question of humility and economics, that is to say, this is what they can afford. If Ousman Manjang is a Marxist, then why does he not dress the same way as Sedia and Halifa ,
let me just put it this way, I am today more concerned with opportunist politics than what is in the head of sincere and progressive political leaders and activists.
A critic of them needs to be constructive and it is only this way we can build a constructive dialogue, my respect for their day to day sacrifices for the common good will never allow my conscience to tell lies about them, I will critic them if need be, which I do , after all are they not human?" " A constructive critic will allow ideas to develop and the right tactics chosen, we might never agree on all tactical issues but it is possible to develop a minimum tactical agenda to confront our present reality" "The challenge facing the radical left and democratic forces of the Gambia is not to confront critics who are not interested in the truth, facing the concrete realities on the ground and to understand that they stand alone in defining a genuine way forward for the struggle to liberate this small country is without doubt the greatest test at hand" "The many years of accumulated experiences, the resources at their disposal, their role and position in the present struggle must outplay the ego and the ideological differences." "There must be a way to find a common platform base on mutual respect, trust and the burning desire for liberation." "The energy, the material/resources invested in alliances with reactionary forces is not only taking its toll but polluting so much the political environment that gives room to destructive criticism."

Still displaying sheer arrogance, egoistic and conceding on Mr. Samateh's points and myself pointed out to you already. You are already wounded, in wilderness and left with nothing but chest pounding and annoying expressions of palpitations. SORRY MATE FOR LOSING THE PLOT

Santanfara. Unfinished business and back to you again on your grave distortion of facts; in your article dealing with Gambian political legacies, different political radicalism era, radical annals of Gambian politics, its key players or leadership referred by lining up people you consider "Marxist-Socialist"; including Abdoulie Jobe, Koro Sallah, Momodou Dumo Sarho, Sedia Jatta, Halifa Sallah, Sam Sarr, Sarjo Jallow, Ousman Manjang, among others; to wrongfully discredit Socialism, condemning them as propagated Socialism, made false assumptions of their political cause, challenges they faced, ideals, militancy, activism and developments of Gambian political history to-date, misinformation and misconceptions
Before we sanitize named personalities lets set the records straight on "Socialism" and why its is fundamentally important, deeply rooted and/or a cardinal significance to a policy? "Socialism" is ideal as "Democracy" serving the common people but because of animosity to P.D.O.I.S you blatantly came out with misrepresentations, character assassinations, vile slanders and smearing campaign on your article published in Kibaaro News to propagate your malicious personal agenda and rallying your political cause? Educating the people and disseminating proper information in no small measure helps in national development and making a great nation but not hostile partisan politics, deceptive politics and disingenuous
REFER ON A USEFUL LECTURE ON “SOCIALISM” OR HOW DOES “SOCIALISM” WORKS UNDER QUOTE quote: “Is this utopia? Utopian visionaries imagine a society in which people work together cooperatively and to the community’s benefit.”
“Many people wonder what heaven is like — so many, in fact, that philosophers and scholars over the years have hypothesized about how heaven on Earth can be achieved. The term “utopia” was coined in 1515 by British writer Thomas More. Utopia describes a perfect place or society, where everyone is equal socially and economically.
The political and economic theory of socialism was created with the vision of a utopian society in mind. Contrary to other economic systems, there is no real consensus on how the ideal socialist society should function. Dozens of forms of socialism exist, all with differing ideas about economic planning, community size and many other factors. Despite the variations in socialist thought, every version advocates the benefits of cooperation among the people, steering clear of the “evils” of competition associated with capitalism.”
"Capitalism provides incentive and financial rewards for ingenuity and foresight. Socialism provides for a more even distribution of wealth. You have to have some of both, or somebody's going to lose too much."
"Socialism, like capitalism, is never found in the pure state. Every developed country is somewhere on a line between pure socialism and pure capitalism."
It is apparent that “Socialism” is not “Communism” and “Capitalism”; and all of them served as underlying rational that support to develop policies only. Therefore a liberal political strategist fundamentally rely on “Socialism” for welfare of community, society and as distribution of wealth and state resources are concern; fitting to say policies catering for citizens welfare.
LOVE THEM OR HATE THEM, LONG LIVE P.D.O.I.S. FUNDAMENTALLY STANDING FIRM ON STRONG PILLARS TO FORWARD THE GAMBIA OUR HOMELAND AND A TRIBUTE WITH THE ACRONYM
- P= THE “PEOPLES” PARTY FOR THE VOICELESS AND EMPOWERMENT OF THE MASSES,
- D = THAT ADVOCATES AND FIGHTING FOR “DEMOCRACY”, IDEAL POLITICAL CLIMATE, SOCIAL, ECONOMY AND BEST CONSTITUTION FOR THE GAMBIA,
- O = THE DEMOCRATIC ORGANISATION FOR WHOLE GAMBIAN COMMUNITY, NATION AND ITS CITIZEN,
- I = INSTITUTION UNDER ITS FOUNDING MEMBERS SACRIFICING, SENSITIZING ON CIVIC EDUCATION, FRANCHISING FOR “INDEPENDENCE”, CLARIFYING ON THE BURNING POLITICAL ISSUES AND TIRELESSLY EDUCATING ITS PEOPLE,
- S = ADDING VALUE FOR ITS COMMON PEOPLE AND ALL CITIZENS WITH “SOCIALISM” THAT MAY BE NECESSARY TO FUNDAMENTALLY BACK CERTAIN CRUCIAL POLICIES FOR THE ECONOMY, PROSPERITY, GOOD GOVERNANCE, PEACE AND STABILITY.
THIS CONCLUSION QUOTED FROM SUNTOU’S ARTICLE HAS BEEN CONSIDERED APT REMARKS, FITTING COMPLIMENTARY AND CREDIT FOR PEOPLE AND PARTY’S IDEALS HE IS TRYING WITH ALL FUTILE ATTEMPTS TO KILL AND BURY IN ANNALS OF GAMBIAN POLITICAL HISTORY quote: “Allow me to end this short note with a few words from Karl Max: “If we have chosen the position in life in which we can most of all work for mankind, no burdens can bow us down, because they are sacrifices for the benefit of all; then we shall experience no petty, limited, selfish joy, but our happiness will belong to millions, our deeds will live on quietly but perpetually at work, and over our ashes will be shed the hot tears of noble people.” Marx, Letter to His Father (1837)”
Having finished with P.D.O.I.S. a good starter on certain highly politically concious individuals listed above; considered our dinosaurs and living legends; that have made their mark and gigantic footprints on Gambian political history, with courtesy of Maafata.com for following relevant articles ("BREAKING OMERTÀ – PART I (REFER HERE) & PART II (REFER HERE): In Response to Modou Sarho’s (Dumo) Last Balang Baa Article By Jainaba Bah, Sweden") sharing a political life story and personal experiences; gave insight of an political era, political cause, activism and militancy; FACTS and relevant details revealed from it and directly relating to your (Suntu Touray) narrations and toxic concoction |

Kobo, It was very interesting reading Jainaba's account of the story of Koro Sallah and Dumo Saho. I have a lot of respect for these people, for the simple fact that they are guided by a strong sense of an uncompromising principle; they are dedicated and committed to the causes that they have devoted their lives to pursue. I admire their commitment and resolve.
I remember in the late seventies and early eighties, when I used to go with a friend to Koro Sallah's house in Alf Die. He was always welcoming to students and other young people who came there for various reasons. I also remember attending a meeting that he organized for students and youths at the Odeon cinema at Lasso Wharf.
My interest gravitated towards PDOIS when they came into the national political scene, and I followed every publication of Foroyaa and attended numerous political meetings and rallies.
These are the kinds of people who have a sense of purpose, and are guided by a core principle in prosecuting the Gambian political struggle, with firm determination and a strong commitment. They never gave lip service to the struggle. These are our unsung heroes.
Just imagine, some of these people have been involved in the Gambian political struggle for two to three decades; they have never wavered in their commitment and dedication; they have never compromised their principles, and choose to remain silent rather than involved themselves in the opportunistic tendencies that tend to motivate and guide the political struggle today.
The article about socialism that sparked this reaction is so distorted and misplaced, and apart form appealing to the gullible has no intellectual basis both in content and fact.
The evolution of PDOIS and its historical narrative can never be distorted in any shape or form; because some of us were there since in the beginning, read the publications from the Voice of the future to Foroyaa, and followed keenly all the arguments that were made on the political, economic and social condition of the country.
There was a vision and a mission since from the beginning; this vision and mission is still alive, and in time we will all come to recognize those who committed themselves and give their entire lives to this struggle. |

Sankalanka Thank God through Jainaba Bah justice done; TIMELY REVEALING CERTAIN FACTS ON THOSE URBAN BASED POLITICAL LEADERS; A PROPER ACCOUNT OF WHO IS WHO & WHAT IS WHAT DURING DIFFERENT POLITICAL ERA, POLITICAL CAUSES, POLITICAL CONCIOUSNESS, POLITICAL BATTLES FOUGHT AND RADICAL CHANGES OF GAMBIAN POLITICS TO DISPEL PROPAGANDA DISTORTIONS, MISINFORMATION AND MISCONCEPTIONS FROM SUNTOU TOURAY ARTICLE
The following QUOTED from Modou Ndow in his article "The New Gambia – Nothing but the truth so help me God!" with courtesy of Maafata.com is also relevant here; quote: "We claim to have so many intellectuals, but they can’t seem to agree on a single thing. Or, is it because we sometimes equate a college degree and flowery words with being an intellectual? (boy sai intellectual la deh!).
According to Edward Said of Columbia University in a series of lectures called Representations of the intellectual in 1993, “an intellectual’s mission in life is to advance human freedom and knowledge. This mission often means standing outside of society and its institutions and actively disturbing the status quo”.
And I don’t think The Gambia has many of these."
FINALLY FROM JAINABA BAH HAVING BEEN INSPIRED BY CABRAL WITH HIS EPIC QUOTE. ALSO OTHERS CAN BENEFIT FROM IT BUT A USEFUL ADVICE AND GUIDANCE FOR SUNTOU'S POLITICAL CAREER quote: “Tell no lies, Claim no easy Victories”

Movement for Justice in Africa (MOJA) is a leftist pan-African political organization that is mostly active in Liberia, with chapters in Ghana and The Gambia. It was founded in 1973 by Togba Nah Tipoteh, who is to this day its president. Early members included Henry Boimah Fahnbulleh, Dew Tuan-Wreh Mason, Amos Sawyer, who served as President of the Interim Government of National Unity (IGNU) in 1990-94, and Kukoi Samba Sanyang, a Gambian revolutionary who had been one of the leaders of a coup attempt in Banjul in 1981.
MOJA played a pivotal role in the struggle for social justice and democracy in Liberia. Through its sensitization work in the 1970s, it raised national political consciousness to an unprecedentedly high level, radicalizing the mass of urban and rural poor and sections of the military. The heightened political consciousness and the agitation it precipitated led to the collapse of the settler oligarchy which had ruled Liberia in a manner not unlike colonialism for over a century.
MOJA has waned in significance in recent years. But in early 2007, efforts aimed at reviving the movement were initiated. MOJA participates in elections under the name Liberian People's Party.

Time, ideas and people do change, it is natural to change. So, MOJA is not an exception. Cuba, China, USSR are all responding to the new wave of changes. |
